17 yr old, dont think i'll grow anymore, is it short? Be HONEST, don't say "it's ok, you should be happy about what you are".

No, it's not short at all! I'm 5' and 15 and unlikely to grow much more. Now THAT'S short!

Read the statistics in the chart at the bottom of the page of the link. Average height for a male your age is 5ft. 9 in. But consider this, Average height for a female almost any age is 5ft. 4 in. So your chances are pretty good that your height won't matter at all when finding a girl, and isn't that what life is all about anyways. :) And you being 17, trust us when we say you haven't stopped growing yet, unless unhealthy lifestyle or if your parents are way short. And unless you plan to play in the NBA, 5'8" is not short.

Man... 5'8'' it's on the shorter end but it's still pretty average I think. Haha but I'm 5'4... It bothered me for years, especially in my case because most girls are taller then me. Something great happened recently, that I ended spending a lot of time with a bunch of very talented people... their were 3 of us who are 5'4''.... and since then, It's been about 3 weeks I'm no longer bothered by my small stature. Both my parents are shorties too but I've decided that I'm going go put mind over matter and grow a few more inches... by the way I am a year older then you.. so I'm going to have to do some serious concentrating, lol
So naw... your not short man, your not huge... but I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Kind of. But i think 6'1" and up for a guy is too tall. So youre a nice height. and if your only 17 you should grow a bit more unless youre big on drugs. You just may be a little slower than others.

Well, i am a 5'9' tall lady, 20 and i have a mental thing that will only allow me to date guys 6' and taller. Sorry...but babe you are on the short side to me. But i am taller that the average female. Look on the bright side, there are many females who are much shorter than i am. And you are a dude, so you have a few more years to grow. I stopped growing in the 6th grade...(everyone else was like to my shoulder untill middle school, when everyone else started growing)

Recent news report says the average height for a guy is 5'9". But within the average are guys anywhere between 5'6" to 5' 11". So you're alright.

I am 5 foot 3
And...really large guys intimidate me.
You may grow a lot more. I know a guy who got taller
in his early 20s. But 5'8" is a good size. Don't worry.

it's average. for some people it could be short. example, myself, i am 17 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, so 5'8" is short. i know some guys just over 5 feet though..........

5'8 is not short to me. I know guys who are 5'5 or 5'6 and seems everyone thinks they are sexy. You are one of the lucky ones
