Check the fuses first of all, if its not that, it can only be one or several things, One of the airbags has malfunctioned, a sensor has gone bad or connection lost (broken wire) or the Air Bag Computer has gone bad. The best thing to do is take it to the dealer to get scanned, if you have any mechanical ability it all it's not real difficult to change the air bag, the computer or a sensor, but you must FIRST DISCONNECT THE BATTERY before attempting to change any of these items.
Hope this helps

depends on the vehicle as some need to be repaired to turn off the light...
But this is a pro only job.. sorry... If you make a mistake... it can cost $2000 in a real hurray and kill people... espcially since most electrical tools the shade tree mechanic uses (test light - VOM from wal-mart) will cause these said problems if used incorrectly in the air bag system.

How old is your car? Air bags need to be checked every ten years in order to pass inspection. If your car is newer you have to take it to a shop and have them run a diagnostic, it could just be a short or a blown fuse. If your car is still under warranty take it to the dealer.

You don't fix it, you take it to a qualified mechanic to fix it. This is an indication of a serious fault....

i would take it to the ford shop and have them check to see if it is a mechanical miss (in the hook up of the wiring)
