What if Jesus never died on the cross? What if hi was just a man but not a prophet, what if hi did marry Maria, and what if they had children? How much will this change the religion and disappoint the believers?

Hon, even if it was staring them in the face..even if god himself came down and told them this, they would stand there and say...we still believe...this is just a test of our faith and we will be rewarded for our belief!
They are bloody dumb sheep, they are even called a flock for goodness sake!
I am glad that there are people like you who still know how to use your own brain though!
Have a lovley day!

To really understand Jesus we have to know that He is the Truth, and the truth is not a something but a somebody, Jesus is truth incarnate and once you accept this then doubting His death and ressurrection will cease, the modern world is losing it`s grip on the revealed truth and running after all and any new ideas that come up and this is no surprise as scripture foretold this, but when the smoke clears and the falseness is made evident the Truth will remain, Jesus the Christ, Son of the living God.

It should not matter at all. This issues are not important to the core message and practice of Christianity.

But many have a shallow faith based upon contemporary accepted things like the divinity of Jesus (although it was a debated point during the formation of Christianity) - so for many, it would destroy their faith.

Thankfully that's not the case. It it was then Christianity would be based on a lie. If it never happened we would still be trying to earn our way to heaven. I don't know anyone who is worthy of or has the ability to earn their way into heaven. In comparing ourselves to God we fall so far from His righteousness that it would be impossible.

Christianity wouldnt exist and we'd still be waiting on a Messiah. Judaism would have continued as it had previously.

Since that's how it actually happened, it looks like religion just modified history to what they wanted it to be.
