"I think that lack of evidence should indicate we need to look at the Universe and see what the Creator (if there is one) would be like." - What does this statement say to you?

Since Christianity makes claims that evidence contradicts and doesn't back up, that is evidence against the Christian god existing. If you want positive evidence that the Christian god doesn't exist, just look at the history of Christianity and how Christianity came about. There is a lot of evidence in there that this god is man-made. Many of the stories come from earlier myths known at the time. Also, much of the stories were written long after the events supposedly happened. Even the writing style suggests that they are fictions. And there is evidence of editing later.

By the way, you can show evidence against other religion's gods existing through similar analysis. You can also look into the study of human nature to see how such superstitions are made up and our tendency to do so.

It all comes down to a person's faith. If a person believes in something strongly enough then no amount of evidence or lack thereof is going to change the person's beliefs. As for the second part, I already look at creation and wonder what the Creator is like. I've been thinking about this for years. The only thing I am absolute on is the fact that I do believe in a Creator. As far as what to call the Creator I still don't know.

Evidence? What more evidence do you need? The bible has more than enough evidence. I mean, the prophecies themself are evident that Jesus Christ was truly the Christ. And, the prophecies were written some 500 to 1000 years before Jesus was born. Plus, you have the Dead Sea scrolls. The scriptures word for word written the same way then, as they are today. There is more evidence than what you think. It's just the fact that people who claim to have knowledge about the bible never read the bible. They just scanned it, if anything. Mainly the people who criticize Christianity are the ones who have no clue because theyv'e never loked deep enough into it. They merely think good living and not folowing other people's immoral behavior is wierd. But on the contrary, people who wish to live miserable and/or in innstitutions, murder, lie, steal, cheat, divorce, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, (and the list goes on) is normal (pfft). Jesus heals. Jesus is the only answer. Darwinism is just a theory from one man who honestly can't stand in front of a judge and present his case as 100% truth. But the bible, which was written by many different people, seems to be aligned and non-contradictory. If presented before the judge, would make its case beyond a reasonable doubt. And, the least God, Jesus, and the bible can bring us is hope. We breathe each breath in hope for the next one, as is each day in hope for the next one. HOPE my friend, makes life worth living another day.

There is no such thing as a proof of non-existence....
Furthermore... the fact that christianity has no backing evidence does not mean there is no god.... It leaves that matter fairly neutral compared to its position without christianity's involvement.

However.... the odds of any particular god of a very specific design existing is necessarily far less than the odds of it not existing. If you are being very vague about what sort of god you're thinking of then the possibility is far higher (though that isn't saying much)... much like if you claim it is going to rain today. On the flipside, the odds of an omnibenevolant god existing, with particular personality traits... a specific heaven and hell.... a son called Jesus.... all the resultant inconsistencies still working out............. is more akin to claiming it is going to rain for 4 minutes and 36 seconds at exactly 2:13pm on the 14th of June and reach an average depth of 2.1 millimetres in the process. It is "possible", but the odds of it being true are so small as to not even be worth considering.

The absence of direct evidence that there is a God is not proof that god does not exist. Just as the lack of evidence explaining other more scientific theories does not prove God does exist.

More research is always a good thing, but science as we know it is focused on our physical world, so the answer won't be found there.

It's a little confusing to me. Evidence is what you would look at in order to get a sense about what the creator (or anything else, for that matter) would be like.
So, it doesn't seem to make sense to say that we have no evidence that a creator exists, therefore we need to look at the evidence to find out what that creator would be like.
Maybe I'm misunderstaning it....

1. Allah (SWT) 'God' is only 'One', has no partner or son, and neither gives birth, nor is He born. He is eternally besought by all and has no beginning or end, and none is equal to Him (Holy Quran example)
2. He is the Merciful and the Compassionate, the Guardian and the True Guide, the Just and the Supreme Lord, the Creator and the Watchful, the First and the Last, the Knowing and the Wise, the Hearing, and the Aware, the Witness and the Glorious, the Able and ' the Powerful. (Holy Quran example).
3. He is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the Unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. (Holy Quran example). The question of Allah's (SWT) 'God' existence has preoccupied men's minds for many centuries. Those who believe in Allah (SWT) 'God' seem to agree that the limited finite human intelligence cannot prove the existence of the infinite boundless of Allah (SWT) 'God'. It can only illustrate or demonstrate his existence to the satisfaction of the curious human mind.
Those who deny Allah's (SWT) 'God' claim to rely on science, philosophy, or special theories of knowledge. Their arguments are sometimes inapplicable, sometimes irrelevant, always complex, and often incomprehensible. However, the developed mind will find its way to Allah (SWT) 'God'. Failure to find the way does not mean that there is no way. Denial of reality does not make it unreal.

There is overwhelming proof of Christianity.
I see Christians all the time.
I see churches all the time.
I've seen and read the bible.
Christianity undeniably exists.

What you really mean is:
Does lack of evidence in God suggest Christianity is wrong.

That quote only shows how little the person who said it looked into the subject.

I have sufficient evidence. People throughout my entire life have thrown evidence against Christianity at me, and it's failed every time.

So the flaw isn't in the answer, it's in the question. Who's to say there's a lack of evidence in Christianity?

Absolutely not......one must realize Christianity is a belief system derived from mans interpretation of what he read or
heard......the Bible was written apx.2000yrs ago...and the
religion began apx 350yrs after that. The religious interpretation and doctrine was established from the mentality
of men who still saw the earth as flat.........The prophetic text in the Bible was ment to ride the waves of evolution of humanity,
not stay stuck and lock into outdated interpretations.
God is known and proved by Physics in the theory of
Consciousness which is particals of energy in all matter and all space between matter.........
