I have fallen into the trap of debating a group of atheists many times and it always turns out the same exact way. After wasting 30 mins of my life debating evolution and coming up with numerous points that they can't counter, they will get flustered and then say "well, all atheists don't believe in evolution. you dont know anything about atheists" so then i will spend another 30 mins debating spontaneous life formation and after coming up with some points to counter their beliefs they will say "all atheists dont believe in spontaenous life formation, you dont know anything" and of course the same thing with "big bang" and every other theory until i finally get tired of talking and go home, which is when they consider the debate a victory for them. When atheists are cowards and use these tactics, how does a Christian win a debate with them. They always have another excuse or theory for me to disprove. if I ignore their taunts to debate them they will never shut up. What to do?

As an Atheist, or at very least and Agnostic, I would love the opportunity to debate you. However, you may have a problem. You see I have a brain, and a need to actually think for myself and not allow a theocracy to dictate how I should think, or what I should believe. Evolution has always had a line of descendant's that can be traced back hundreds of thousands even millions of years. When the Christian belief has that kind of credibility then we can debate. Until then I would suggest you open several other books and actually learn that using you mind is not a bad thing.

Yes it is quite funny, but not a new thing. They have claims to all the intelligent arguments based on a voodoo science. Before Columbus all the scholars of the world, both religious and non-religious knew for sure that the earth was flat. And would argue that point vehemently. Before that the scholars knew that the earth was the center of the universe.

Today, the "scholars" think they have all the answers, no different then before. Christianity has a history that has real people and real beliefs. Evolution has next to nothing. Conclusions and suggestions, nothing more. And doing "research" means one is looking for the truth of something. But once a conclusion is reached then that is no longer research, but looking for something that one believes is already there. A big difference.

I don't believe we are saved because we look at the facts and decide to be Christian, Christians are not wiser or more intelligent or more spiritual than Atheists or Muslims or Jews but real Christians are part of Jesus' flock of sheep and we hear his voice. The only thing we are and will ever be is receivers of God's grace.

i'm uncertain that is precise to cut back your description in basic terms to theists. i've got encountered a similar concern from the different element. i don't comprehend what proportion circumstances i've got tried to have interplay somebody on a extreme point right here in basic terms to be met with the binary equivalent of a sparkling stare. i'm under no circumstances saying that i'm between the exceptions. all of us lie someplace on a continuum with persons the two above and under us. This place seems to be lots like the old fairy tale-- you have have been given to kiss a marvelous type of frogs to locate a prince. That looks to hold genuine notwithstanding perspective one holds.

There is an invisible pink elephant sitting next to you. Now it's your turn to counter that with facts that the pink elephant doesn't exist.

God's word is not debatable, It is Truth, Atheists will say & do anything when they are in a trap. One day they will believe that & the next day they will believe something else. After serving God for 37 yrs. There has not been one atheists or anything else, that could dis-pove my God. Just as you say here you spent so much time on each subject, & they come up with a different answer each day, Their answers does not prove anything. God will always have the final say.

If your "debate" in real life is up to the standard of your questions on Y?A I find it very hard to believe that you've ever used facts or reason.

matt, you are a famously lousy debator. you really should steer away from law or science. what else can be said?

You see the responses here? "God's word can not be argued."; "They are all just fools" etc. etc. Does this sound like people who believe in honest, thoughtful debate?

It seems to me that the whole point of being an athiest is to not believe in God. So, how do you convince someone of something they have chosen to deny? I'd give up expecting to win them over and just believe what you believe. Be a friend, listen, talk, but don't waste your time trying to change someone. Only God does that anyway.
