Jerk the steering wheel back and forth while you are trying to turn the key. Do the wheel kind of hard.
What has happened is that the wheels were turned slightly when the car was last cut off. The steering is putting a little pressure on the ignition safety switch

sometimes u need to move the steering wheel a little, then turn the key at the same time. I dont know why that works but it has for me in the past.

Check the direction of your steering wheel. Sometimes if it is 'locked' the car wont crank. Turn the wheel a little and crank the car simultaneously....
If your lights are not dimming, then it can't be your battery or altinator, but i would have the starter checked.

sometimes your steering wheel gets locked. the only way to unlock it is to turn it hard to a certain direction, then hold it, then turn the keys again. make sure the key is in properly.

key could be worn out. try your spare or get it recut is the first action I would try. Unless your steering lock is bound into the steering wheel(but I am assuming you do wiggle the steering wheel while trying to turn the key.)
