WalMart has a donation request form. Go fill it out at the store. Follow up in a couple of days with a call to the store manager while you are there, Be sure to find out his name while you are at the store so you can ask for him personally which will help your call gom nthrough. Find out the assistant manager's name too and the name of the person in the office who assists with and is pretty much in charge of this. Try to speak with one of them while you are at the store and let them know you've filled out the form and just want to thank them in advance and tell them a little about what you do.

RE:
How should I go about asking Wal-Mart to donate 34 dozen Muffin's?
I am a PTO officer at my son's school and we are having a "Muffin's with Mom" breakfast at the school for kids and there mother's. I need a lot of muffins so I thought I would ask our local Wal-mart for a donation who should I contact about that?

I have asked for and received donations from Wal-Mart before. Just call the store and ask how it is done. Some stores will have an application form for you to fill out and others will just have you write a letter.

I think there are four steps to your asking Wal-Mart:
1) Write up a "proposal". Title it "A Request to Wal-Mart." First, tell what you are doing, what the end result will be because of what you are doing, and why you need Wal-Mart's help to accom[lish it. Then, write specifically what you want (what, how much, when). Then, tell Wal-Mart what you will do for THEM in return for their donation. For example, "We would be happy to list Wal-Mart as one of the sponsors for our event." Or, "We will put a sign behind the table where the muffins are served that thanks Wal-Mart for their support." Or "We will send a press release to the local newspaper telling them about Wal-Mart's contribution."
2) Put your letter in an envelope and deliver your letter personally to the manager of the Wal-Mart store. Thank him or her for accepting the letter - tell her or him what it says, including the part about what you will do for Wal-Mart in return for their donation. Thank him, after taking up very little of his or her time, and leave.
3) Wait a few days and call the manager, and remind her or him of your request (it is not the most important thing he or she has to think about and so she or he will appreciate the reminder), and again, ASK for the donation - ask specifically. Do not hem-and-haw about it. ASK DIRECTLY.
4) Do everything you told the Wal-Mart manager that you would do. Take pictures at the event, including a picture of the sign and/or the donated muffins. Take the pictures to the manager at Wal-Mart after the event, give them to him or her and thank her or him again. (Doing this step is very, very important. It will make it easier for the next person who asks, and it will make it much easier for you if you need to ask again at a later time.)

start with a letter saying To whom it may concern, then describe what you need and why... they will do it most likely.. you have to give that letter to someone whose up there in the food chain no pun intended...
