Social Security in all states has the same method of operation. The first application for ssi benefits it rejected. They do not even check to see if it might be legitimate. The second application they take about 30 percent of them and investigate them for approval. The third application they begin to take seriously and will give an informed decision as to what they will do. Even then it can be challenged.

The reason they do this is because there are so many people who are just sitting around thinking of ways to scam the government when there is nothing the matter with them.
A friend of mine who works for social security told me if they investigated every claim that came in they would have to increase their staff by about 10 times what they currently have. Their thought is that if is legitimate people will reapply.

If you are refused after the third application, go to an attorney who specializes in cases against social security refusals of benefits.

Just call SS and apply. They will walk you through the process. They will have you sign release of information forms so they can get your medical records. It's about a 90 day turn around from the day you initially called.
