Please can someone explain the system where this DS chap has it put into his head that he would like to go to a show, then to stay in a hotel, not just a normal place but a 5 star hotel. Yet he is not allowed to take his auntie out to do exactly the same thing on him?!! She has to pay herself!!
I can understand that there has to be a person inbetween calling the shots however when it is for their own self gratification surely there is something wrong with it.
Another carer told the two DS chaps who share accomodation that they should get Sky tv, they organised it and now the carer sits and watches sky tv?!!!
Wat is wrong with our society that this is allowed to go on. My friend has tried to talk to the boss of the carers involved but unfortunately nothing seems to be done and she is being made out to be a trouble maker. Who can she go to to sort this out?

Unfortunately that has already just taken place and now the carers are suggesting a holiday to Spain!!!!

I would call government resources and so on. Go over the heads of the carers supervisors. I think this is a severe case of taking advantage of your friend.
Those carers need to find a new job, scrubbing floors somewhere.

This is absolutely shocking and your friend should see what she can do about getting replacement care for her nephew. What does it matter if some incompetant manager brands her a trouble maker she is doing it for the welfare of her nephew.
She should do what she can to cancel this trip because no one requires a five star hotel let alone ripping off a disabled man to pay for it

First port of call is to ask the care commision to investigate.
Also speak to the social work department
I'm no expert on DS , but could it not be the individual's decision?
I would also speak to the legal appointee of the person.
Great to see my tax dollar being spent on 5* hotels LOL

Is it a private company? It all depends on the agreements that were initially made. Those things need to be worked out in advance before hiring.
