I would consider myself a Conservative Christian...and yet is seems clear that we are in the throws of Global Warming...I am seeking to understand why as a conservative Christian that I should not embrace this belief? I am looking for opinions from the Conservatives only please....because only they themselves know the answer...I would appreciate those with negative comments or those embracing assumed knowledge to refrain from answering...Thank you. Have a Blessed Day.

The thing that I am truly trying to address and understand...is why Conservative Christians frown on embracing or acknowledging that we might be having Global warming...other wise...why do some Christians feel it is wrong to embrace this...I am trying to understand what the thinking is here....I feel like I am missing something and I want to know what it is...I appreciate all the great answers...but they aren't quite hitting what exactly I am asking.

I consider myself a conservative Christian, and I must say, I have no clue why global warming is frowned upon.
I do take my clue from the word conservative, to mean that I attempt to conserve that which I have been given.
I see evidence of global warming, and I see evidence of human neglect for the well being of this planet which was created for us to live on until that day.
So, know this, you are not the only conservative who is confounded by those who cry foul about global warming.

Great question. And I don't think your issue is really a religious one. But, many "conservative Christians" are also politically conservative. And those who are more politically conservative have, in general, not been convinced of the "urgency" of global warming. It seems that global warming is really important and culture is focused on it. But, it is no more urgent than other issues and in time will pass. People are all psyched up about it now, but there is a lot of evidence to suggest that humankind is only responsible for a tiny percentage of the "greenhouse gases" that the earth produces. Perhaps we will discover a few years down the road that, in fact, the earth does have temperature cycles, where at times it is hotter or cooler than others. Either way, wreaking havoc on the economy over an issue that is far from decided doesn't seem prudent.

I'm still reading up on global warming and trying to be an aware and open-minded person. But there are a lot of "pet" causes out there that have come and gone. Earth Day, saving the Rainforest, Heal the World Foundation, etc etc. Good question

Well, the conclusion of global warming is just what you say it is a conclusion. In the history of the world and even recent history, volcano's have fired more toxins into the air then all humankind ever has. We shouldn't burn our leaves but wild fires burn millions of acres. The current cycle of warming has many factors and is not new to the earth, nor are cooling trends.

I have a great respect for people like Al Gore even though I think he is a little nutty in his statements and his fear mongering. Which is exactly what it is. If Al Gore and the others such as Greenpeace wanted to fix any problem they should be focused on population control. Less people, less resources used. Are we so stupid that we believe that we can continue to grow the population and not have major problems? And, isn't it quite funny that people like AL Gore have houses that are ten times larger then they need to be?

There is just as much evidence showing that the earth goes through cycles of hot and cold, so this is really not a big issue. The Holy Bible though does tell of weather changes at the end times. Maybe that is what is happening. As a Christian, we do know that even bigger changes will happen and there is nothing we can do about that. That doesn't mean we shouldn't respect and protect God's creation. I'm not worried about a worldwide flood again since God said that won't occur. We have faith that things happen for a reason. If Al Gore and others are so concerned, they need to stop being hypocrites and change themselves. I don't think private jets, limousines, fleets of SUVs and extravagant mansions help the planet.

May God Bless you.

volcano's cool the climate so if there is no big volcanic explosions for some years the temperature of the planet gets hotter so the Globe is warming due to no strong volcanic actions world wide. Another reason is Global warming is used to support those who favor abortions, because they say the planet cannot support more people so they justify the killing of babies. 48 million since roe vs wade. these are the reasons conservatives shy away from global warming.

What you should be asking youself is should you believe the rhetoric in the media regarding the causes and solutions for global warming. Or, you should be asking yourself where does global warming fit into God's plan???

Reading the popular media can lead a person to conclude that "global warming" is:
o- either a hoax to promote business opportunities, politicians agenda and scientists grant money.....
OR
o- a problem related to overpopulation, industrialization and fossil fuels whose solution options lie in solar power, wind power, geothermal power and nuclear fusion....

However, the correct answer may be altogether different:

NASA has released never-before-seen images that show the sun's magnetic field is much more turbulent and dynamic than previously known. The international spacecraft Hinode, formerly known as Solar B, took the images. Hinode was launched Sept. 23 to study the sun's magnetic field and its explosive energy. National Aeronautics and Space Administration scientists said the spacecraft's uninterrupted high-resolution observations of the sun are expected to have an impact on solar physics comparable to the Hubble Space Telescope's impact on astronomy. "For the first time, we are now able to make out tiny granules of hot gas that rise and fall in the sun's magnetized atmosphere," said Dick Fisher, director of NASA's Heliophyics Division. "These images will open a new era of study on some of the sun's processes that effect Earth, astronauts, orbiting satellites and the solar system." Hinode is a collaborative mission led by
the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and includes the European Space Agency and Britain's Particle Physics Astronomy Research
Council. NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., managed the development of the Hinode's scientific instrumentation provided by industry and federal agencies.

>>> as regards alternative energy methods, I favor development of the technology for nuclear fusion using lunar Helium 3

No Christian wants hurtful events to happen, or for people to get hurt.

That being said, this is one of the prime reasons why Christians are told to preach the Gospel, so as to avoid blood guilt in God's eyes, so as to bring God's word of salvation to all.

The plain fact is that a GREAT TRIBULATION has been foretold will happen.

One can hardly imagine any greater tribulation than if what the scientists predict will happen soon due to global warming actually starts occurring. The predictions are very dire!

Thus it seems to me personally that this global warming has to do with the Great Tribulation being foretold in the Bible.

Though no Christian probably desires the great tribulation to happen, all Christians desire the kingdom rule of Christ and his co-rulers that is predicted to occur after the great tribulation, and the earthly paradise this will bring. In that sense, Christians can start lifting their heads in relief when these terrible things begin!

If further scriptures are desired, ask!

I don't consider myself a "conservative christian" b/c when I see sin I acknowledge it as sin, and therefore SPEAK OUT, Jesus done that too.
This world is only temporary anyway, and if you are a christian then you know that. Our time here is limited, very limited especially if the news about the temple is true, so I don't think we or anyone will see the long term effects of global warming. GOD BLESS

It isn't the warming aspect we do not agree with. The Earth is constantly in a cycle of cooling and warming. It has been since the beginning. What we don't agree with is that mankind has anything to do with it. A volcano erupting will put more pollutants into the air in one day than we have in all of history.
