I'm not referring only to gum (although I really do not want to see what someone has in their mouth at any time).
What i really object to, is people who take a mouthful of food and then carry on chatting. You see it a lot in fast-food restaraunts and I hate the sight of partially masticated food appearing and disappearing as the mouth opens/closes. Not to mention the spray effect. Ugh!

I agree, it's gross. But it's also partially the fault of the person that asks the question after you've just taken a mouth full & then looks at you impatiently while waiting for an answer.

Etiquette and good manners exist so we can relate to others without offending them or ourselves. They are the rules that govern our social behaviour so there is a certain order in our society. Talking with our mouth fulls is not only offensive, but it gives a bad impression of the person doing it, but as with most things in life, being corteous is a choice, so there is not really much you can do if people chose being rude.

i understand, but if this is so upsetting, maybe you should only get take out so you don't have to be subject to this. Sometimes it just can't be helped.

it is kinda gross when you get sprayed, but i find it real annoying when i have to wait till iv swallowed my food before i have to talk, esp when it's important/urgent... maybe thats just me though.
