Revelation 20:5 "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished."

Revelation 20:13 "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works"

This and other verses seem to support everybody just hangs around 'sleeping in their graves' until judgment days comes around.

So, is heaven empty? And what happened to all the dead whose graves were destroyed? (you don't think we keep graves around forever, do you?)

No but you are quoting some of the verses that gave birth to the "rapture" pseudo-doctrine in the mid-1800s. Revelation was written as a polemic against Roman persecution during the reign of Nero. It is completely allegorical because the author would have been crucified or fed to lions if he had written it in a way that the Roman authorities would have understood. Nero was not a proponent of free speech. Peace be with you

I have come to the same conclusion. 'The dead know nothing' it says in Ecclesiastes. So, we have to assume that Heaven exists only for the angels, Hell is non existant (a very genius way I must admit to control the people in the middle ages and now) and people were made to live on Earth. For Christianity to make sense that is.

Heavens are full of angels that praise and thank god and others ask for forgiveness for the sins that people made

for the graves that have been destroyed ... their souls are still in heaven and will be back to them when they are recreated in the other life after death

John 14:1-3
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe also in Me.
"In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so,I would have told you.I go to prepare a place for you.
"And if I go and prepare a place for you ,I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am,there you may also."
After the Judgment day the chosen ones shall be in the mansion of God.
Heaven is still full.
Judgment day awaited with excitement and anticipation...

God Bless.

Well, you ask people on earth questions that really only God can explain. But I will tell you what I understand...

There is a world of the dead. This world is not hell. However, hell impinges on this world. And tempts the dead as much as it tempts and harms the living. This is why we pray: Our Father...Lead us not into temptation.

Heaven is not empty, but it has been closed. There are times in history that the heavens were sealed up and the living had
no observation of it. That does not mean that we are not heard there, and it does not mean that God is not hard at work in the work of salvation and creation. But it does mean that there is a considerable darkness on the earth now. We continue to pray: Our Father...Thy Kingdom Come.

There has not been the general Resurrection of the Dead, which the verses above are speaking about. And it does not mean that if your grave or body are destroyed that you will not rise from the dead. God has all the material He needs, and He is the Creator. However, we are not to abuse the body. That is against nature and against God. This is why we pray: Our Father...Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven

God has a Plan for both the Living and the Dead. God does not have his home in the Universe. Heaven is outside of the Universe and encompasses it. We pray: Our Father, who art in Heaven.

The Bible says: The Light shall remain and the darkness can not put it out. Because the darkness can never encompass the Light nor overtake it. So that the Lord is able to keep the earth in balance and the sun in good order. Our Father....Give us this day Our Daily Bread.

When heaven is sealed up, people have to wait for their deliverance. And also we pray: Our Father...deliver us from evil.

Heaven is opened upon the Will of the Father of Heaven. We pray that the Light will dawn upon the hearts of peoples of all Nations and all wars will cease. The Bible promises this according to the Prophet Isaiah, who prophesied about Christ. Christ is the Light of the World who taught us to pray to Our Father in Heaven.

When the heavens were opened St. Stephen looked up and was able through his purity and prayerfulness to observe Christ standing beside the throne of the Father Creator. And he exclaimed: I can see Jesus standing at the right hand of His Father.

And at this they became so angry they picked up large stones and pelted him to death. Because they had no ears for the Truth and no eyes to see with, blinded by vanity and the false material worship that evil solicits.

But in David's Psalms it is written that Christ must wait while the Father put his enemies below his feet. It does not mean until they are dead, but until the Light has overcome the darkness. Then the reign of Christ will be revealed.

Heaven is filled with the saints and martyrs who died in Christ and also the good whom God ransomed through the works of the saints and angels. Also the holy Patriarchs who followed God and whom Christ did raise up and redeem with Him.

God has promised a new heaven and a new earth. And that evil will burn up by virtue of the Word of God. For this reason we also pray:

For thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory Forever.
Amen

Isaiah:
61:10. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, and my soul shall be joyful in my God: for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation: and with the robe of justice he hath covered me, as a bridegroom decked with a crown, and as a bride adorned with her jewels.

61:11. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth her seed to shoot forth: so shall the Lord God make justice to spring forth, and praise before all the nations.

When John was exiled to the isle of Patmos, he had a vision of Heaven and, in spirit, was taken there. There's a vivid description of what he saw in Revelation chapter 4.

Each of us will not be in Heaven or Hell until the Judgment. GOD, Christ, and the Angels are in Heaven awaiting the Judgment. ONLY GOD knows that time at present. Have a great day.
Thanks,

When a person dies, their spirits go to heaven. The body remains in the grave. If a person is not saved, their spirits go to hell. Who we choose to serve in this life, will determen that.
When Jesus Christ comes back to take the church "all who are saved" the dead will rise first (thier bodies) and reunite with their spirits. They will once again be whole. They will once again live in there bodies. Living forever in the Gods love.

I dont think heaven exists. Christians used to say that it was in the sky and once we got up there and realized that there wasnt any heaven in the sky, and now they just say its nowhere that we know but we better believe it because some deluded idiot says so. Best copout ever in my opinion.

no,there are many creations of GOD living there right now, angels, spirits, the 4 living creatures that praises God everyday (non-stop) etc. The flesh of the dead lies on his grave while the soul goes back to GOD.
