I've been to Australia with my wife and kid. The continent is so large- like US- that you'll waste a lot of time traveling from one place to another.
Lapland- I've never been there but wanted to go last year. Had to postpone...but, Lapland would definitely be a nice place. So near the Arctic Circle, with Santa's home in Rovaniemi etc. There are many budget carriers that will take you there.
Lapland...I suggest.

I went to Lapland a couple of years ago and plan to go back with my younger children - its mega expensive for a day out but so magical when the kids think they are in Santa's real grotto.............well worth the money

Australia - It is a massive contenant that allows you to explore eveything from deserts to snowcapped mountains (almost). Lapland is just a small country and is all white.
