Here's the scenario. My boyfriend and I were in our room when his sister came, with my shampoo and conditioner of that brand. She asked if they belonged to me (apparently, someone else borrowed it) and I said yes. My boyfriend began joking with her ( You stole my shampoo!, etc) and she scoffed and replied "I don't use garnier fructis. It Rottens your Hair" and she said it in such a nasty voice. I won't lie. I felt offended, though I did not say anything.
I just want to know if there is any truth to this. Personally, I have not seen were it is affecting my hair in that way, but I have not been using it for very long.

Thanks.

Garnier Fructis sleek and shine smoothing serum SUCKS BIG TIME! and I WOULD KNOW.
After i straightened my hair i put it in and my hair felt so nice and smooth and sleek, but by the middle of the day it was a frizzy, dry mess. When i stopped using Garnier sleek and shine serum my hair stayed smooth all day. It also has an ingrediant which when put on as a serum (which is what it is) it ruins your hair. Wish id known that. The shampoos and conditioners also contain that ingrediant but it doesnt enter your hair folicle if you wash it out, so if oyu actually like the stuff wash it out good.
I've sworn off commercial hair products, i use natural instinct and olive oil now.

I would ask your sister where she got her information. Sounds like she's pulling it out of thin air. It seems rather impossible that an shampoo could "rot" your hair, as it only stays on for about a minute. Anytime someone says something unrealistic in a snarky way, question it. I, for one, cannot find anything adverse about Garnier on the Internet. And how does hair "rot", anyway? Never heard that term used for hair. I use their products, and I love them.

That sure wasn't very nice of your sister.
No. That's not true; Garnier Fructis products don't rot your hair. Personally, I don't care for the Fructis line because they make the tub slippery. The hairspray is a little too waxy for my taste, too. But, hey, it's a matter of taste, you know? Don't listen to your sister; that's nonsense.

as a rely of actuality, save style shampoo's are hypolithic meaning water loving. those shampoos scent super and have a super lather however the sparkling won't final extremely a quantity hours and neither will the scent. you have observed that notwithstanding in case you purchase a save style frizz controlling shampoo that it would not artwork as marketed. Now, while it is composed of salon style shampoos, they're called lipolithic meaning oil loving, they do no longer lather as lots, their interest is to attack each and each of the undesirable oil on your hair and scalp, get rid of it, and leave you feeling sparkling and your hair smelling super for soooooo lots longer. additionally, shampoos and conditioners from the save have a wax base and could coat your scalp and reason buildup that would reason your scalp to flake and make it seem such as you have dandruff or reason your hair to snap. what i prefer to recommend is Paul Mitchell moisture shampoo and conditioners which you shouldnt use primary, because of the fact too lots moisture would be a bad concern, yet once you prefer some thing you need to use primary get the paul mitchell tea tree lavender mint shampoo and conditioner. I spend 26$ on each and each of them, even though it lasts me 6 months, so thats in basic terms 4.30$ a month! additionally, in case you get the paul mitchell great skinny serum, that stuff is like liquid gold!!! than can fix any quantity of frizz and it smells outstanding! for curl defining, get the paul mitchell around trip, or the better physique sculpting foam. there is definitely no concern you have that a paul mitchell product won't fix. theres some hundred! please take my suggestion and don't take the subject of your hair gently!

Um... no. That wasn't very nice of her. Hopefully she just wasn't thinking that it would effect you - hmmm.
But, Garnier products can't damage your hair because Garnier can't afford to mess up with their products. I think I heard this reasoning in O magazine - well-advertized brands are reliable because with all the money going into advertizing and promotion, it would ruin them to ever have a product fail, and ruin their name. So, they test the life out of them.

I love Garnier Fructis! Smells so good :)

It rots or not was depend on hair type of every user. You didn't feel it affected your hair, so that products fix to you. Maybe your boyfriend's sister said that depends on her friend's experience that not fix with that product. All I know Garnier products never rot the hair.
