Wow, this is an awesome question!! But wait - are you asking *does* God play hide and seek, or *is* He playing hide and seek? See, it's a bit different... I personally think that God should be fun and quirky enough to play a game of hide and seek once in a while with the dead - I mean, come on, He has all of eternity to use up. (So this would be, "does" He play...) However, it disturbs me to think that God is playing some game of hide and seek with the spirits, not as a fun game, but as some spiritual test of some kind... and that even in Heaven, the spirits have to seek God... who is hiding from them...

God is the spirit of the deceased.

Why not? G-d hides his face from us every day. I think you need to focus on what you appreciate in life to find him.
