Hon, your with a therapist for a reason, and thats no-ones business but your own. But if they think it would be benificial to your treatment then you should go with it.
It might not feel natural to you if you are used to keeping it all bottled up, but it will help you in the long run.
Good luck.

It is entirely up to you what you want to share or keep to yourself with a therapist. It takes time to build trust with one. Believe me, I was in therapy for quite some time, and it took me months to fully trust my therapist with my emotions. It took small talk, getting to know her better, and knowing that she isn't there to force anything out of me: she was there to listen to me and guide me. Take some time getting to know your therapist and engaging in small talk to feel more comfortable with him/her. Once you are able to open up fully, you will be able to overcome whatever issues you may have, and you'll get the best of your therapy. Good Luck!
