"Measure what is measurable, and make measurable what is not so." --Galileo

Concepts in the supernatural domain are closely related to concepts in religious spirituality and metaphysics or spiritualism. The term "supernatural" is often used interchangeably with paranormal or preternatural — the latter typically limited to an adjective for describing abilities which appear to exceed possible bounds.

Supernatural claims assert phenomena beyond the realm of current scientific understanding, and may likewise be in direct conflict with scientific concepts of possibility, plausibility, or reality in general. The supernatural concept is generally identified with religion or other non-scientific belief systems — though there is much debate as to whether a supernatural aspect is necessary for religion, or that religion is necessary for holding a concept of the supernatural; see the nature of God in Western theology, anthropology of religion, and Biblical cosmology.

Young Earth creationism is a religious doctrine which teaches that the Earth and life on Earth were created by a direct action of the God Elohim relatively recently (about 6,000 years ago). It is held by Christians and Jews who believe that the Hebrew text of Genesis can only mean a literal six (24-Hour) day account of creation, that evidence for a strictly factual interpretation of the text is present in the world today, and that scientific evidence does not support Darwinian evolution or geological uniformitarianism.

Many of its adherents are active in the development of Creation Science, a creationist endeavor that holds that the events associated with supernatural creation can be evidenced and modeled through an interpretation of the scientific method. There is no support for a "young Earth" theory in professional science journals or among professional science organizations[1][2], which Young Earth Creationists claim is often due to discrimination and censorship.

Measured or proven?
Not sure about measuring, but proving something doesn't change it's nature.

Rhonda is correct. Much of the natural world can be observed and is empirical.

The supernatural is not... that is why it is called the supernatural. If one were to prove something supernatural, it wouldn't be that way anymore. It would be natural.
