Actually, love is the greatest healer. If one has not forgiven an offense, then they do not love unconditionally.

I agree with Gaz, because compassion/unconditional love is necessary for anyone to sincerely forgive not only others, but also oneself.
An Excellent Book to read is called:
"Heart of Forgiveness: A Practical Path to Healing."
By: Madeline Ko-i Bastis.

Yes it is. It is something that I'm learning to do.It's always been difficult for me to forgive those who don't regret their wrong doing. But I have to tell you, forgiveness lightens the weight on your soul.I can't tell you how much I have healed because of forgiveness.I feel like a new person.
Peace and Love back at ya! :P

Forgiveness is part of love. It can have a dramatic effect on your life. If you are willing to forgive a person you can heal a relationship. If you forgive a person you get back control of your emotions, you grow as a person and that person doesn't control that part of your life. ALSO if you forgive someone that doesn't mean you have to like that person, or allow them to take advantage of you again.

Forgiveness helps in most cases.
Forgiveness heals us from the sickness caused by accusations. If we can avoid accusing, we won't need this healing.
Peace and love to you too!

Compassion is the greatest healer.
It will awaken our awareness to include all Beings and to do this we must relinquish our mental hinderances, there are 5, one of which is ill will.
The 5 are...
1.Ill will
2.Sensual desire
3.Sloth
4.Restlessness and remorse
5.Skeptical doubt
Feeing the mind of these will enable someone to attain a cleansed mind and ultimately Arhantship.
Forgiveness is one of the 5, attaining release from all 5 is the goal, true compassion for all is then truly possible.
Peace from a Buddhist....

I believe that Love and Forgiveness must go hand in hand ..You can't forgive if you have hate in your heart and you most definately cannot love ....Great Question...
Also, unless you let JESUS into your heart and allow JESUS to help you forgive and heal, you will probably fail.. JESUS is the great healer and through him , we can do all...

I think you're on to something here. Love and forgiveness lead straight to God. I've been working on them both since I was born. It's that darn forgiveness thing that make it such a challenge.

Yes. In order to be forgiven, you have to forgive. It lightens the load and helps clear the mind.
Remember, to forgive is divine.

The hurt one may have caused may be part of normal function to themselves and may be completely unaware of what grief their actions ahve casued. You may feel they need to repent why they are just cruising by on their merry way oblivious to your woes.
I think understanding the motives of the action will negate the necessity to forgive.
