Take a breath and think about what is in your long-term best interest. If the stuff in question is currently his as you indicate, your selling it would be a violation of law for which you would be accountable for at least in civil court. Selling this stuff would give your ex an opportunity to prevail in court and paint you as the villain rather than himself. Graciously giving the scoundrel his possessions and moving on to live your life well will, in the long run, expose his poor character while retaining your good reputation. Essentially stealing his stuff may lead others to think he was justified to cheat on you since you are "obviously" a person of poor character yourself . Giving the jerk his things back in a dignified way may even cause him to eventually feel guilty for what he has done and realize you were too good for him!

Yep, definitely sell it and get whatever you can for it. There is no point in shredding / burning / throwing paint over perfectly useable stuff; it is only stuff, and if he's left it at your house then he clearly doesn't want it anymore so destroying it will not hurt him in any way and just makes you seem bitter. Sell it and someone else gets the use of the stuff whilst you get the benefit of the profit.

no....take it to a charity shop and let them sell it.....and if he sees his stuff up for sale then he will have to buy it all back again...he's had an affair so if i were you i would just clear all of his stuff out and forget all about him...he's not worth the stress...there is another alternative...have a car boot sale outside his house and sell everything for a penny each...if he's done the dirty on you then he's not worth that much....or put an ad in the shop window and sell the lot for a quid...he's bound to see it if he frequents the shop alot

Honestly I wouldn't touch his stuff. Be the mature person in this situation. You will create long lasting problems if you sell his stuff and you never know what he might do... Be careful!

Most defiantely. My ex of a few years back left. So I took some to the car boot and the rest I took to the tip. It was quite
a liberating experience, especially when he wanted them back LOL
