I'm sorry you are disappointed in the activists you know. Many do still put it on the line with a lot of courage. Find a cause you care about and see who else has real passion about it. You do this by websearch, by getting out and getting involved and seeing who is making a difference, by listening and asking questions, by going to the ppl affected and asking who is really getting something done. If no one seems to share your passion and you know it is real and right start where you are doing what you can and the ppl who are real will be drawn to you. Please do not assume everyone is paid off. Many work as volunteers and never see a cent for their efforts but they help things change. Some work as adversarys of the system. Some have learned ways to work within the system to get what they need to get accomplished. There may be fewer who want to destroy the system just to destroy it but what is that worth unless the cause they are fighting for is helped and it makes a difference for someone.
