Last time I got my belly-button pierced, they put in a CBR ring after & told me that when I clean it to rotate it to make sure I get the stuff inside.

I got it re-pierced yesterday & had them put in a curved barbell. Should I try to move this one (up & down ) when cleaning it? It really doesn't have that much room to move, but, should I try anyways?

I haven't changed the piercing as I just got it yesterday ( &, I highly doubt it's healed yet either, as they take 2 months to heal). The barbell is what I had the piercer put in after he made the hole.

With the CBR example, I was referring to a piercing I had done last year (but had to take out & let close up due to various reasons)

So, if I don't move it, then, will it (the piercing) heal around it (the barbell) & the skin (& inside) grow/stick to it & make it difficult when it comes time to change it?

Don't move the piercing around. You were given bad advice when you got it done the first time. Moving the jewelry will cause the healing tissue to become irritated and start the healing process again. It will take much longer to heal this way. Also, any germs that are on the outside of the jewelry will then be dragged into the open wound. You don't want that happening. Lymph will naturally drain out of the piecing, and you can gently remove it with a cotton swab (remember to do a sea salt soak first to soften it up).

Different shops will tell you different things. Some will tell you to move it so the skin doesn't heal around the barbell, and some tell you to leave it alone so you don't get any of the "crusties" inside the piercing.
I have had my navel pierced for 9 years now, and when it was healing, I rotated it. I used dial soap, and cleaned it everytime I was in the shower. It never once got infected....never had a problem.
A biggy, DON'T touch it unless you are cleaning it. Hands carry all sorts of bacteria on them. Good luck to you!

Jewelry does not need to be moved around a lot while cleaning. Its also important to make sure there are no crusties on the jewelry when you move it because it can be pulled inside and cause irritation to the healing piercings. Too much movement will cause irritation, its best if you just leave it be and keep movement to a minimum

Clean the area daily with Dial soap and water, rinse well and do salt soaks every day. The salt soaks will help flush the piercing so there is little need to move the jewelry, the inside will clean itself this way.

Don,t mess around with it to much, all you should do is when your in the shower and the skin is moist move it up and down but make sure its all clean on one side before you go the other way, if it becomes infected then use a mild solution of warm water and tea tree oil.
To make it easier with any other piercings you acquire, when you can use a ring, its easier to clean and make sure the jewellery you chose has more than enough room for extra swelling it helps with healing and lowers the bodies chances of rejecting it.

Yes, definitely. For the first few weeks there will only be a little bit of room for it to go up and down, but you should make sure to do it in the shower once a day while cleaning. As the swelling goes down, it'll be easier to move it. Once it is completely healed, you should go get measured for the length of your next barbell since this one is extra long for the swelling.

You should never tough a piercing unless you are cleaning it, and never "rotate" the jewelry. This just causes irritation. Sea salt soaks 2-3 times a day, and you should be good to go.

you wont have much room in the initial stages as there will be a little swelling, but try, as much as you can, as you are probably aware, cleaning is all important, keep it clean and dry as much as is possible, bathe with a solution of half tsp sea salt dissolved in half pint boiling water, allow to cool and bathe with this regularly, there are commercially made solutions available but i would avoid them, i have 13 piercings for 10= years now and worked in a studio, never used or recommended anything else, good luck to you

You shouldnt change your original piercing until the wound is healed, so you shouldnt have to clean it if the hole is healed. If you change it before it is healed you are more likely to get an infection.

yes u should try at least 2 turn it and make sure u clean it, properly with either tea tree oil or something like that.( i had 2 clean my mum's when she had hers pierced, )make sure u get all the gunky stuff out so it wont cause an infection You might only have 2 turn it very very slightly 2 clean it? and yes it'll feel really tight 2 start with. but thats normal, it will get lose. hope this helps x
