I think you can get a beer somewhere for 1 Lira, draft, on a special.
1/2 a lira, 50Kurus will buy you a can of coke.
You can get a Yarim ekmek (half bread sandwich) for 1.5 Lira.
It is cheap, food is good nd the beer is good.
And clothes!!! Go to the underground market off of Istiklal Street in Taksim Istanbul, across from Gloria Jeans (the one further down, towards Tunel) you can find great brands for 10 lira each.

A small loaf,it used to be really cheap in Turkey but things have gone up lately.
We have been going for years and have to take more money each year,we were there last September for 2 weeks and spent about a grand,we went out every night though.

Where can you buy beer in London for £1???
The cheapest beer I've seen in Izmir, Turkey this year is 3ytl (just over £1), 1ytl doesn't buy much anymore. It's still much cheaper than UK for most things though.

Prices are a little cheaper but not ridiculous. 1 turkish lire is about 38p so you could buy basic amenities e.g. bread, milk etc

in turkiye, u can buy a bottle of 33 cl beer with 2 or 3 turkish liras...

The prices in tourist resorts are not that cheap but cheaper than UK it depends where you are the Bodrum area is expensive once your out in the countryside it is very cheap.Istanbul can be expensive.It is cheaper to eat out in Alanya than Bodrum area .As I say it varies but is cheaper than UK.
