Theres a number of things I do depending on the situation.
1) If I need a really quick fix, I clap my hands once then rub them together really fast untill they get hot, then i close my eyes and put my hands on my face and just concentrate on the warmth on my skin.
2) If Im generally anoyed or frustrated with a person or situation, I take a long deep breath counting from 1 to 9, then when I get to 10 I let it out very slowely. Whilst breathing in I concentrate on my slow breathing and feeling all of my diaphram expanding, on the exhale I concentrate on the feeling being released and my mind and body returning to a relaxed state.
3) If I have generally had a stressful day I go for a jog/run. I mostly do this at night because there is less traffic, its not as hot as the day time and you dont get tired as fast so I can go for longer.
4) If I have had a day that has really made me mad, I pump weights, using heavier weights I usually use, I dont concentrate on the number of reps or sets im doing, infact I dont even count. Every time I lift the weight, I picture what it was that made me mad (anger is a great fuel sometimes).
5) Also another one of my favourite things to do, is put some nice music on in my bathroom (heavy metal and rock dont generally suit this lol) turn off the lights (so the room is dark) and just sit under a hot shower with my eyes closed and concentrate on the music (the sound of running water has many proven benifits for relaxing the mind) and who doesnt love a hot relaxing shower. If im really stressed out I make the decision before I get in the shower that I will not get out untill the hot water runs out.

Fish. I know it's not available to all people, I happen to have many places to fish here in Floridsa since I live on the coast. But having a line in the water just makes me feel relaxed. Sometimes (Yeah, it sounds stupid.) I don't even bait the hook! Standing there with the sun on me, a cold beer from the cooler, chatting with the other people that are fishing also is something I would like to as a job, not just to relax. But then again, if I didn't have a job, I would not need to fish!
As far as the breathing goes, when you fish you get a rythem going. Cast, take a breath, exhale. Reel in a little, breath, exhale. reel in a bit, repeat until you need to cast again. DEEP breath on the cast. That rod gets heavy. (HA! 7 foot fiberglass mid-weight pole with a cast aluminum spinner. Have 6 pound test on it. I'm in this for the fun!)
If you actually do catch a fish, be gentle with it. Don't handle it too much, and gently put it back in the water. If you have to catch, catch and release.
Cast. Breath. Look at the water and the reflections, reel in a bit, talk with your fellow fisherman. Relax. A day few hours spent fishing can relieve a whole weeks stress. Hope you can fish, dude! Enjoy.

I find it helpful to go to my room and take deep breathes and try my best to calm down. Exercising is also a very good idea and it is also good for your health. The only problem is that to much exercise can hurt you. You just need to do what you find helps you.

for me- yoga and meditation.
I also find working out releases stress and helps me feel very positive.
Certain yoga classes will include breathing techniques> you can ask the instructor if she uses these techniques in her class.
One breathing technique to use is to inhale to the count of 7, completely filling the lungs from bottom to top. Hold to the count of 7. Exhale to the count of 7. Pause for the count of 7 before the next in-breath. Continue breathing in this way. Try it with your eyes closed so you can more easily tune in to the way this feels in your body.
Blessings.

Exercise
Yoga
Meditation
You can learn some great breathing techniques with Yoga.
One simple one is, sit quietly with your eyes closed, take a long deep inhalation through the nose, then slowly exhale through your mouth. Letting your mind quiet, let your worries go. Stay in the moment.
You can do it 1 time or how ever many times you want.
It is good, I do it through out my day sometimes!

While exercise is probably one of the best stress relievers, I have to admit that I don't usually utilize it.
I tend to do one or more of the following:
* Drink beer.
* Watch sitcoms.
* Play video games.
* Play guitar.
* Cry.
* Sleep.

sounds funny, but housework. I put on a CD and turn it up loud and do the housework. The breathing is breathing in real deep and holding for count of 5 then letting all the air out and holding for count of 5 and so on.

Take a shot of tequila, inhale. Take a shot of rum, exhale. Repeat w/ vodka, bourbon, & gin. Do 2 reps. This is a very effective breathing exercise. I can guarantee you that all of your stress will be alleviated before you're even halfway finished.
