Else, it would lead the world in the preventions against pollution and global warming. But instead of acting, US administration drags its feet and leaves the world to rot. What kind of a leader would do that?

Yeah, but let some s h i t happen, and see who the world expects to clean it up. We may not be the world leader, but the rest of the world sure seems to lean on us for everything.

You may be taugh that in school, or your peers may convince you otherwise when you are riding in the air conditioned comfort of your automobile to the protest.
But as far as environmental policy goes, the USA is the world leader.
HOW?
Development of technologies to remediate pollution:
Enacting some of the best laws that balance manufacturing needs with nature
Proactive stance on real pollution issues and more
The amount of money spent to remediate affected sites.

Of course we're not the leader of the World. Our planet has no world leader so stop implying that the USA has that kind of responsibility. We don't have it, we don't want it.
