sounds to me like either he see the distance aas a problem or he sees you as more "just a friend" and not a pottential lover (the loser).
so as he has a new woman, move on, forget him, and may be if you really want him he may come around to you in time. get a new guy (don't use the new guy, look at it like a possible long term relationship (assuming that is what you are looking for)) now tell the old guy about your new guy and how happy he makes you. if the old guy is in to you romantically at all he will get very jealous. if not then he will be all "i'm very happy to hear that" or words to that effect.
to be perfectly frank i'm sure you could easily do better. so good luck and the sooner you forget that sad loser the beter!!!

He sounds confused, and not surprisingly since he just got out of a long term relationship. Probably he's unsure, insecure too. So leave him be for your own sake, before you get dragged into the confusion.
He has to sort himself out first. If you can be a friend, then do so. But it seems you have strong feelings for him; and he is just not ready for real commitment. You sound like you want commitment. I am sure, you will find someone else who will be committed to you. Focus on something else.
You and he are at different stages in your life. It's as simple as that.

men are cowards and when they aren't interested in a girl they will think of any excuse in the book to prevent themselves from having to say "i don't like you". so take the hint, that he'd rather be with her than you, no matter what the excuse, read between the lines. hes a coward and a bum. find someone better.

That is just his polite way of saying he doesnt want you. HE doenst know how to tell you now the focus is on him for not being able to offer anything..if he has nothing to offer then you have nothing to accept..get on with your life..

You should try putting up with my boyfriend, he goes from being all over you to disappearing for days, sometime a month. He likes his own space, he also likes to sulk, so men can be complicated, I've been with Ian over 3 years, you just get used to it after a while. xxx

If you knew he was damaged or used goods when you took him on I doubt you can get him exchanged at where this sod was found nor compensation for your troubles. Be glad this poor fit didn't result in physical injury. If he is on someone ...
frankly, be happy for your good experiences but move on.

He cannot offer you anymore because he isn't "into you". He really likes the new girl, so he can offer her more.
