Hi,

Simple question: I go to a house. It is the first time I go there and it is the first time I am meeting this people. I bring a gift-wrapped chocolate box. I want to give it.

What do I say when I give the box?

How to put it really elegantly?

E.g. “Here is small present from me” , “Please accept this small gift”.

But they just don’t sound right.

"just a little something for you" should suffice.

Say "Hello, it's so lovely to meet you. Thank you kindly for the invite. Here's a little something I thought you might like".
As for the message on the card, a simple, Thanking You for Your Hospitality - should go down well. GOOD LUCK ;)

I´ll write a note that says: ¨This is a small detail for your kindness to invite me to your home¨.
And when I give them, I´ll say: thanks a lot! and I wish you like them...

Another thing that you can do, is send the box of chocolates the day after your invitation, with a note that says: ¨it was a special night for me, and I enjoyed a lot, thanks for everything¨...

Say:

"Here, I brought this for you."

They'll be all "thank you, how sweet," or whatever...

Now, this is your time to shine! Show off your complete humbleness and lack of ego:

"Oh, no, it's the least I could do." (Something like that.)

Oh yeah... that'll seal the deal.

Hope this helps!

Just smile, say hello, and hand over the gift saying 'This is for you'.
