If you have been following the thread of my discussion all night long, I have found that there are profound differences of opinion. The most glaring is the Qur'an says Jesus was never crucified and that the Bible is nothing more than corruption according to Muslems. I have one final question, a sub to the above. If the Bible was corrupt, why did Mohammed pick and choose from it at will or willy-nilly? Why not just dismiss it entirely because if any portion was corrupt, then the whole should be suspect and eliminated?

One last idea. This has been going on all night. If you don't understand the question, don't bother answering with drivel.

Yes, you are correct. The Quran is only stories taken from the Bible and rewritten to justify the preachings of Muhammad.
Since the Bible was here hundreds of years before the Quran. which should you believe is authentic?

This is to all who think Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) copied Bible even though it was corrupted.
First of all, there was no Arabic Bible in circulation during the life time of Prophet. He was an illiterate, how could he copy. Some of the similarities in Bible and Quran are due the fact that the author of the original Bible and Quran is Allah. But Satan being an enemy to us mislead the Christians and made them astray. They started believing in Trinity. They corrupted the original Bible and teachings of Prophet Abraham. The present day Bible is nothing but a corrupted book written many centuries after Prophet Jesus, that is why you find so many lewd stories in it. How can a book of God be like it.
The only original book of God available to all of us is Holy Quran. It will never be corrupted as it is being guarded by Allah.

you misunderstand something ,remember bible was the word of god before changing some verses on it .
now, some verses are true and some isn't , we should not say the bible is wrong or bad or anything . god order us to believe in all books before qur'an that it was the god's books and we have to respect it as well.
another misunderstanding , Mohamed (pbuh) didn't write the qur'an , its the god's word so ofcourse their will be a similarity as all the religion of god before ... god sent Islam to guide the people again after they make Jesus (pbuh) a partner with god .
by the way Mohamed (pbuh) was illiterate can't read or even write .
as a result , Islam is not a new religion . the purpose of this life is the same, the god also the same , god sent Mohamed (pbuh) to continue jesus's (pbuh) "real " message and to show us the right path again .
Allah says :
21/25. Not an apostle did We send before thee without this inspiration sent by Us to him: that there is no god but I; therefore worship and serve Me.
peace :)

There's always hope.
However, I disagree with your hypothesis of what is the profound difference between the two religions.
The major and most important difference is that Islam says Christ, our Lord and savior, was a mere prophet like Muhammad. That alone is blasphemous.
If Islam denies the deity of Christ (Bless His Name), then of course! they'll say the Bible is corrupt and Christ wasn't crucified and so on and so on...
Why did Muhammad pick and choose from scriptures, only God knows. I think he called himself trying to out do the Lord Jesus as respectful as he could as not to be outwardly insulting. Which was obviously to no avail, once he denied the deity of Christ, he insulted him. Muslim don't understand that.
So, to answer your original question, will there be peace between the two, I seriously doubt it. A a guarded truce, maybe.
Christ WILL come back in all his glory!

There is the same hope for peace between Christianity and Islam as there is for peace among all religions. That peace comes with secularization, the separation of church and state in all matters. Secularization gives freedom of religion. A religion should have potential as a personal faith and not a political canon. Christianity has been secularized, so people are reaping more benefits from it than they were in the Middle Ages, when violence in its name took millions of lives. Unfortunately, Islam has yet to be secularized, and this many more years. http://www.secularislam.org is one of my favorite sites.

Anybody who picks and chooses pieces and parts of the bible to start and form a new religion is false doctrine.
You cannot form a new religion on mere peices of the bible.
It's just wrong. The bible is whole and in it's entire content lies the truth. No one has the right to take some if not all of the word and make it their own "truth". The bible is truth.
Jesus is the way the truth and the life, no one goes to the father but by me, you can't just take Jesus out of the bible and expect to "get it". He is IT.
There will never be peace among Christians and Muslim folks ... we can always agree to disagree in our personal life but on a whole, it's not going to happen.

There can be no peace with Islam. Mohamed was a False Prophet, and he used what he liked from The Bible, and dismissed what he didn't like, much as people do Today.

The only hope of peace is when all involved are dead.
That goes for any aspect of existence. The very act of "being" involves conflict.... which negates peace.
As such, if we want things a bit more peaceful.... ideally christianity and islam will eradicate each other.

We believe the Bible was revealed from Allah, and corrupted by man.
For a Muslim, the Qur'an is enough, we don't have to believe what the current Bible says, but we respect it anyway, since it 'was' from Allah.
