The 'tramp stamp'
They think it will accentuate their hips and make them more alluring to guys - all part of evolutionary psychology
Some do it because they genuinely like the designs and placement and aren't doing it to appear 'sexy'
Fact is, from my own experience, girls who get them are usually the ones who you would think would want to cover up
There is nothing sexy about a girl with her top riding up her back, love handles spilling over her jeans and a stretched badly done tattoo on her back criss crossed with stretch marks.

1) It is a trend, and they don't die easy.
2) That particular part of the female body ages well in that it is most unaffected by gravity as they age, therefore the tattoo stays looking good for a long time. I've seen many artists recommend that area for this reason.

It is a kind of fashion which is taking up with all. There might be 2 reasons, first reason, females want to attract more towards their bump, by having wonderful tattoos. Second reason might be, if they have tatoos to other body parts like, hand, leg, face, etc, their parents might be against the tatoos, so bump is a place which is mostly hidden, so they like to have it on the lower back.
But I suggest to not to have any kind of tattoos on any part of the body, as this is very harmful to the skin & health. Rest is up to you, as everyone has their own life & freedom.

Just like anybody else get´s a tattoo when they are young that they might later regret. But also, so when they are on all fours, you can see the tattoo too, and it´ll be a turn on. Kind of like women who wear thongs hanging out of their low-riding jeans...omg, I love me some thongs. Anyway, Imagine you are giving it to her, and you look down at a butterfly right above one of the many beautiful body parts....OK, that´s why. But, tattoos are permanent, ¡dressing up like Wonder Woman or a nurse, with two ponytails and librarian glasses is just PRICELESS!

Well, tattoos meant to be looked at. And that place is meant to be stared at also. Besides, That is the portion which has been carved with perfect curvature that the tattoo gets more pretty presentation.

because the lower back kinda goes inwards naturally, and a tattoo just looks good there, and it shows if you wear lowrise pants..
