I am a Catholic myself since I was 8 years old. But I didn't really go to church in my past as I am too lazy. Lately, I start to go to Catholic church again.

I've ever been to Christian church and talked with CHristians. I found Christians are all very nice and friendly, but Catholic aren't. is this just my feeling? or you feel the same?

btw, what are the main difference between Catholic and Christian?

What you are finding is that there is a difference between Catholics (who are the original universal Christians) and "self-defined" Christians. (The I determine what Christian means, Christian)

Catholics attend Mass on Sunday to participate in the worship of God and to keep the Lord's day Holy. Catholic Mass is the same Christian worship as that described by Justin Martyr in 150 A.D. Many other Christians attend Sunday services for social reasons, some almost for entertainment purposes. Many non-denominational communities even describe their Sunday services as "productions", mostly of music and some preaching.

First, this label called "Catholic and Christian" is very flawed. People make this separation all the time, causing a subtle implication that Catholics aren't Christian.

To clear it up, Catholics ARE Christians. Don't let anyone tell you different. The Catholic Church IS Christianity.

The difference is actually called Protestant and Catholic. This gets into Christian history. The Catholic Church is the original church founded by Christ 2,000 years ago; the Protestant Reformation was a movement against the Catholics around the year 1500. From there, the Protestant movement has splintered thousands of times, which is why there are so many different Protestant denominations, like Baptist, Mormon, Methodist, Lutheran, Anglican, etc.

The Catholic Church teaches the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When we go to Mass, no matter who else is there, it boils down to you and Jesus. The Church does not interfere nor judge, because She teaches that God is the only judge. She relies on the Holy Spirit to nourish and teach the faithful. Protestants are our brothers and sisters in Christ, just rebellious brothers and sisters.

Firstly, let me take into account that since childhood you where so annoyed by the repetition remarks and liturgical prayers the catholic teaches and the lack of inspiration...while in a born again churches you find it full off jumping and praising....

Secondly, it will follow the atmosphere of the people around the born again churches is very cordial...

I can go citing the difference ....maybe I blame the catholic church for maintaining this type stereo type sermons.....but ......hey c' mon we don't have to listen to this type if when can always jump and shout .....but do you think the teaching is the right way?

As a catholic I believe on those people who have died and our suffering in purgatory...the only way these people can be save is prayers from the living. Born again christian do not believe in purgatory ....and they say all of those who believe in Jesus is save? That is a question mark to me? Who will pray for those people in purgatory but only those who believe that there is a purgatory....I have alot of loveones who had died that I love so much I cannot turn my back on them now....

God Bless

Catholicism and Christianity are no longer a similar faith.maximum folk have an inclination to think of and say that they seem to be a similar.Catholicism isn't the dep. of Christianity.it incredibly is yet another faith. There are Christians,Roman Catholics, Independents, protestants, Orthodox and Anglicans.those are the 6 chief/important 'religions' that worship the Christian God or Jesus Christ or the two.i don't comprehend lots approximately different religions I in basic terms comprehend approximately Catholicism. So it is not hassle-free to point out the genuine variations.

Like Born Again Christian who claim that they are the true christian . The protestant, the independent church.. the seven day adventes.. all of this are also christian just as catholic

See, perhaps you should have asked what's the difference between the actual meaning of the word "Christian," and the revisionist ("born again") interpretation. You have to be SO specific in your terms around here, there's always some clever snot who'll pick you up on everything.

Yes, I know you asked about Catholics and Christians, but that's asking for people to think in terms of grey. And heck, why should they do that when black and white have worked just fine all these years?

Yeah I had this same thing. I grew up Christian and my parents grew up Catholic but then " Found Jesus" and became Christians. Christians is the term for anyone who believes in Christ. Then there are denominations such as catholic or baptist. We agree on the same basic stuff " thou shall not kill" but disagree on other stuff " Thou shall not dance".

EDIT: Let me clarify something when I said my parents "Found Jesus" I meant they finally truly believed in Jesus. Before they had just gone to church because their parents made them. It was just a religion not a relationship.

The truth is, catholics are NOT Christians. They say they are, but they are not. Only if you are born again and have the Holy Spirit working in you and Jesus in your heart, then you are a Christian. You can tell if a person is saved by their fruit. Observe. Do they go to church on Sunday and live like the devil the rest of the week? Do they think we are all Gods children? We are not, we are all God's creation, but some of us are true children of God's and some are children of the devil. The ones who are not saved are children of the devil. The Catholics have so many strange beliefs. I use to be catholic and yes, I do know! I am now a born again Christian and I have renounced the catholic religion. Please look at this website. It will tell you the true answers to your questions. When you get to it, click on "false religion" then you will get a list. Click on the catholic religion and read.

I will get many thumbs down from the catholics, only because they are stuck in a traditional religion and don't want to hear the truth. I hope you are not one of them.

Catholics ARE christians. Christians are people who follow the teachings of Christ. I would suggest doing some research into what different religions believe. Think about what you think is true. Don't go on whether or not the people are friendly. Be open minded. If you just want friendship you might be better off taking a class, joining a club or something like that.

First catholics doesnt worship idols... Adoration is for God alone. Veneration are for the saints and Mary. I dont know why Catholics have been such a target of other religions... but i guess its as Jesus said blessed are those persecuted in holiness sake, the kingdom of God is theirs.
I hope Christians and Catholics could live peacefully, after all we both believe in one messiah... Jesus Christ. And that sets us.. christians and catholics from other religion. There are many difference in beliefs between Christians and Catholics... First of course, is acknowledging the saints, martyrs, angels and Mama Mary. Again, i would like to clear, we dont worship them... We pray to them... to HELP us in our PRAYERS to GOD. Because while they were on earth they lived their lives for HIM. So wouldnt it be more powerful if we ask for their intercession? Second, is the images of Jesus Christ.. of Mama Mary ... of the saints and angels. We DO NOT worship them. We worship the one they signifies. When you love someone, you have a picture of them right? Sometimes, you talk to it, or kiss it. But does that mean that you're in love with the picture? Of course not. Its just there to remind you of them. My room have statues of the Sto. Nino and Jesus Christ. Everytime i enter my room, and see them... I pray to God... Because they reminds me of HIM. Maybe, if my room is bare, i wouldnt remember Him as often as i do now. The list could go on... but to sum it up... the difference between Catholics and Christians, (actually Catholics are Christians) is the way they practice their beliefs. But they have the SAME FAITH.
"Religion is man's search to God, Faith is God's search to mankind."
