my 3 year old does it all the time and it bothers me one time i cried because she told her dad she didnt want to live with me. My mom asked me why does she say that and so does her dad he doesnt live with us. i have no idea but I am starting to think that this is just a phase because she wants to be where there are no rules and she can get away with everything. of course grandmothers spoil the kids and her real dad feels guilty for not being there so when he gets her on sundays she can do whatever, eat whatever and he wouldnt say anything. i sat and thought was i doing anything to make her not want to stay with me and i cant think of anything i do have a 7 week old that takes up most of my attention and time. Right now she is spending a night at grandmas cause she said she didnt want to come home. i asked her why and she say CUZ. lol i just miss her

I don't think it's because of the divorce. I think children do this because they like different things from the norm. My best friend has a 5 year old who pitches a fit anytime we go somewhere because she wants to stay. It could be anywhere from grandma's to the local Piggly Wiggly. I guess home must be boring to them...the same old toys, same old rules, same old mama...lol I wouldn't worry about it. She loves you...she just likes a little excitement in her life!

Don't worry about it, I have a 10 year old like that. She may be feeling the affects of sharing the attention with your week old. Most children like to be where they are spoiled. Why not send the 7 month old with grandma and spend some extra time with your 3 year old. Its a hard situation and I've been there. You can't make yourself feel bad. It has made me nuts that my ex husband gets to spend " quality time" with his children because I am the one that gets all the responsibility. Hang in there, she loves her mom and I think maybe cutting off the grandma visits will help too.

Such self centred, gorgeous, egocentric little souls they are. They only want to be where the attention is on them 100%. Of course if you have a baby you're lucky to give them 20% so she's not happy to hang out with you at the moment. Don't take it personally. If you left her for any long length of time she would be missing you terribly.

i sympathize greatly as a mother i can understand your feelings.........

please do one thing as you told that ur kid loves to go out......

You can take her outdoors like restaurants, parks, beaches etc in this way you can spend ur time with your kid and she will also enjoy........

All kids do that. But as soon as they leave they are over it.

This is what divorce does to children...it sucks, and you have to live with the concequences.
