My probation officer gave me 30 days to clean it up or he's sending me back to jail

were you around someone who smoke it? do you use any products with hemp in them? maybe the P.O. contaminated the test and is out to get you! maybe he/she has a friend that needed to pass and switched the test, I would definitely let my attorney know what happened!

The process of detection is not easily described but to say the least there are differences in blood versus urinalysis testing.
In some testable drugs, the actual drug tested can be detected by one test but not the other. Yet, the other test can still detect the "metabolites" of the tested drug long after.
One source of information that may help you understand is listed below.
Your probation officer obviously took into consideration that (I'm assuming you're on probation for a drug offense) the time lapse between your initial "conviction" and subsequent testing was not all that long, therefore, the test kit used by your PO is still showing some metabolites of the drug in your system.
I suggest you do some research on the different types of test kits and methods yourself before taking to heart some of the information you've been given here.
Best wishes.

These tests are not accurate! The navy years back threw out urine testing because in is inaccuracy. I showed up once 20 years ago when I was on probation in Pa. They said I showed a positive and the county Judge threw it out on this basis, that and the fact that the court had more important things to do than waste time on such a frivolous charge.

False positives occur from time to time. Save the evidence of the alternate tests so you can rebut the PO's test, in court. You were smart to have the tests done right after leaving the PO's office.

1 I would request that since they make you test in front of them that they need to perform their part of the test in front of you that way no one can tamper with the test at any time.
2 I would maybe ask for a blood test instead of urine on the grounds that it would be less susceptible to false testing.
They will probably deny your request but it will make them think a little bit.
the cost for them to test samples is enough that they don't test every one they just perform a random test out of an allotment of samples unless they have a reason to suspect certain ones.
and if there was no charges or reprimands from your dirty ua then it probably was a bluff.

Maybe someone switched the test. Or maybe the test kit was bad. Keep your proof with the hospital,
a valid copy with you, and send a valid copy to the clerk of the court with which you have your probation. (Smart thinking to go have the other tests done!)

This is GROSS, but maybe they weren't using clean recepticles or gloves or somehow contaminated it...or perhaps your PO doesn't properly know how to test the sample (my husband is in charge of Urinalisis for his unit in the Army and it was a difficult and long training to learn to do it all properly) did your DR call the PO and get it squared away? If you are honestly trying to do the right thing and be a productive member of society, I hope this gets cleared up and you don't get in trouble for a mistake!

Sometimes the police, probation, and parole officers will try to bluff you.
They will tell you that you failed a drug test just to see how you react.
That way they can trick you into admitting you use drugs.

well keep in mind the PO test is no where as accurate as the hospital is. so if you wanted to fight a violation charge, i would subpoena the hospital drug test w/ time/date it was taken to prove your PO test was incorrect. Hey we're human, it happens...
