How did the Goddess and/or God that you worship now come to you?

I mean almost every wiccan worships a Goddess and God from an old religion, so how did you choose them (or how did they come to you)?

was it in a dream, did you just flip through a book that had pictures of gods and wait to see which ones called to you, or what?

Thanks!

my beliefs have a Toaist bent in that all the universe is a collective part of divinity. Through history, it was easier to understand and relate to if it was ascribed to a human-like persona. But to me, it is not a matter of worshiping a person-type, but rather, harmonizing with the flow of nature and the elements and aspects that govern nature and the universe. We embody these aspects of nature into a personal form for the ease of focusing on them more efficiently

That is a very difficult question and an even more difficult answer. There are many different practices of magick. Therefore, there are many different ways a person connects with the Goddess (represented by the Moon) or the God (represented by the Sun). Some may see the God or Goddess in a ritual or through chanting. While others may feel the presence of the God or Goddess when practicing Magick. Another way is through divination. It really depends on the person who is trying to connect with them. One thing is for certain, that is the God and the Goddess are seen differently to everyone. They present themselves in a form that is comfortable to the person whom they are connecting with.

Nothing you point out is always screaming Wiccans, or Witchcraft for that topic. Yoga is not facet of Wicca, regardless that Wiccans might train yoga. Wolves aren't facet of Wicca, regardless that Wiccans might like wolves. Obviously you do not need to be Wiccan to train yoga or like wolves. Same factor with candles, pendulumns, logs, and so on-- whatever no longer always Wiccan, a Wiccan would use them however plenty of different individuals could too. Having books would simply denote an curiosity in quite a lot of religions or occult practices. My cabinets are covered with books on many distinctive religions. There's simply no method to inform situated at the expertise. If the household is Wiccan, practising Witchraft or any occult faith in any respect, they ought to be relatively open approximately it if inviting you into the dwelling and no longer hiding some thing. Might as good ask them. I have no idea why any one could take offense to you asking, "I spotted your books-- are you Wiccan/Pagan/practising Witchcraft/and so on?"

Okay, I'm not wiccan but I do think someone other than that other person should answer this. I am however, a witch.

I follow Goddesses mostly. Basically to me, I worship nature and what I see. Earth(Gaea), Moon(Selene). But then I have to use the balance of nature... Sky(Ouranus), Sun(Ra). I use different pantheons of Gods and Goddesses but I feel a connection with them.

I think I have always felt it but I didn't know it until I began researching when I was 12. I knew that the christian my friends and family had was not for me.

I am a Wiccan, and I had a personal experience with my gods. They called me, I didn't call them.

And it's a personal experience, not a public one, of no validity to anyone but myself, so that's all you need know.

*raspberry!* that was so funny, I nearly choked on my tongue!

edit: you know, when you flutter your labials... and spittle comes spraying out... it is an action that occurs when something jerks you into response that is so funny and ridiculous that you can't help but sound like a mouth fart.

To properly answer your question... I am not wiccan... I am an animist.
