good idea?

that he actually thinks that the end of the world would be a 'good' thing, for fundamentalist christians.

I use the word fundamentalist as meaning he takes the bible literally, thinks the world is 12000 years old and is a creationist.

I posted this at americans last night, they so no problem with it (butthey are not the ones being bombed in Iraq)

*rolls eyes*

I'm afraid that you (and Pres. Bush) are wrong,if you thinkt hat the rapture has anything to do with Armageddon.Theya re two very seperate things, and If Pres.Bush really believed in the rapture,he would know that. You may disagree with the man,but that is no excuse for talking about him like he is a three year old playing with his daddy's gun.

And being a 'fundamental' Christian actually means adhereing to the fundamental beliefs of Christianity-such as the virgin birth, the resurrection, one god, etc.

"takes the bible literally,"

As opposed to what? Christians take the Bible literally, obviously they wouldn't believe in God,or that Jesus rose from the dead ,or any number of things. There are different interpretations of certain passages of course, but that's very different to saying that the *whole* of it needs to be taken as a metaphor.

Fortunately, it's not just Bush who has to press the button. It needs to work it's way through a chain of command.

If Bush & his cronies set out to invade Iran, most of the top brass in the pentagon would have rebelled.

I really don't think it would get as far as the missiles being launched.

Or at least I hope so.

There relatively is a few doubt whether George Bush himself is a fundamentalist, even although he's clearly a Christian. lots of the neoconservatives in his administration are Jews who're in touch for the risk-free practices and survival of Israel, so that is not likely that this president might intentionally destroy the middle east. i wish that is a few convenience to you.
