If you have a friend or friends that are studying somewhere, go there. It's always nice to be around people you already know. If none of your friends are studying Martial Arts, then I suggest that you go to the school closest to your home and check it out. If you like what you see and hear, then join.

It does not matter what the style is.

I won't tell you this art or that art, it would be wrong for anyone to do that.

You need to search some of the Martial Arts you find interesting and then study about the ones YOU find interesting.

Then go watch a few classes at the nearest Dojo, and see if they are legit, and if it is somewhere you would like to study.

Then choose an school to join.

TKD is good if you want to do some TKD competition.

Karate the same.

If you want to jump on the Ju Jitzu Band wagon its all up to you...

Peace, and Much Respect,

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean Martial Art that uses kicks & punches. That's what I practice & it is a great art. Find a good (traditional) school in your area & get going!
