My doctor told it to me this way when I miscarried:
"Having a baby is like making a cake. You have the mixture, the eggs, the oil, the milk, etc. Sometimes, your body starts a pregnancy and it has all it needs for a good start, but sometimes, when it reaches the point where it needs the eggs or the oil, they are not there, and the mixture is a loss and must be dumped"
In the case of babies, they need specific chromosomes that come from the egg and the sperm. Once fertilization occurs and its time to build the baby, things begin to form based on the recipe from both parents. When it comes time to build things like a heart or kidneys, etc, it has a specific formula and if for some reason that exact egg or sperm didn't have the right ingredients, then the baby can not be formed and nature takes its course.
Fact is, most sexually active women miscarry once in their repoductive lives. Many times, the miscarriage takes place before they even realize they are pregnant and their period may come a day late. Other times, it happens later on and it is heartbreaking but a fact of live. Of all pregnancies, only 25% actually make it to a healthy delivery. But do not be discouraged by this, babies are born every day which means that this process does happen often enough, even with the only 25% possibility.
I miscarried may 03 at 9 weeks, I was pregnant again a few weeks later. You miscarried at 10 weeks, but you have no idea when the baby stopped forming. Sometimes it is much earlier than you realize but it takes some time for the hcg to decrease enough for your body to notice. Do not be too heartbroken, this is just natures way of making the perfect baby. It's very unlikely that it will happen again. But next time, try to take it easy when you get the pos preg. test. Best of luck to you.

A good, healthy pregnancy can sustain the rigors of your exercise routine. You did NOT cause the miscarriage especially if you had an exercise routine going before your pregnancy. I know how you feel, as I also had a miscarriage at 8 1/2 weeks- now I have four kids. So many women have miscarriages so just know you're not alone, especially if it was your first pregnancy. Hang in there.

I don't think so. Mostly miscarriages are caused by defects in the baby or when the child's blood type is different from the mother's. Miscarriage is nature's way of expelling something the body see's as foreign or not right. Our immune system fights disease in the same way. The body will "threaten" a miscarriage when the body's blood type is different because it sees the baby as something that is different from what it is used to and thinks it doesn't belong there. There's a Rogam shot you can get for that though so the baby stays where it belongs.

depends of age and physical factors too. some women survive falling down steps while for some it's pure bad luck. (I'm sorry for your loss but it's more common than you think and most of the time you will be fine.) Good luck
