I think that people believe in both for much the same reasons:
- we have a bias towards believing that events were the result of intentions,
- we tend to see patterns where none exist, and
- we look for evidence supporting our beliefs while ignoring that which refutes them.
In addition,
- people want to feel special, and both kinds of beliefs give people that feeling (these beliefs go hand-in-hand with the "cult of self-esteem"), and
- the media strongly reinforce beliefs in gods and other paranormal things.
However, the "God" belief also serves the purpose of excusing immoral behavior, letting believers behave pretty much however they want, while paranormal beliefs don't directly supply people with such an excuse.

I think everyone has the right to believe in whatever form of Divine they choose (and also the right to choose not to believe).
As far as "paranormal activity" I don't believe we as a species have all the answers yet. 300 years ago magnets were considered paranormal. There are still mysteries out there that we haven't answered that a lot of people just stick their heads in the sand and say "it doesn't exist". We shall see, I already have my opinions on those things.

Those who relate God and his activities to paranormal activities do so because they are sure birth, death, character, inspiration, intelligence, pscyche variations, coincidence and time (so called normal activities that we all take for granted) are all existing and happening due to some Natural self driven energies that just exist and need no coordination or control. There is no Supreme Goal that all these activities are directed towards and there is no one or multitude monitoring these.
Is there any proof for above? I beleive in God because I am not sure. It works for me. When I feel I am out of control in the daily life I remember God and it helps. I dont feel the need for God to indulge in some paranormal activity to prove His presence.

I think that most people believe in Christianity only because they were taught it since birth.
Now normally I wouldn't believe in the Paranormal....
but I've had experiences that have convinced me otherwise.
I find that it is more probable that there is other dimensions that cross and can cause such. There is much still to learn, and explaining everything away to God, angels, and demons is plain ridiculous, there definitely can be scientific answers for many things we don't know and understand, and demonizing the unknown is just pathetic, something a child would do.

Both are supernatural entities which are not testable directly by science. You can only believe in such things as a matter of faith - this requires no evidence, logic or reasoning.

I don't believe that gods are logically possible, and I don't believe that 'paranormal activity' has any basis in reality. It's all in the imagination, or it's outright fraud.

Would it help me if I saw 'God' part 1 and 2 first or does this stand on its own?
