a lot depends on your adsl speed if its 8mb like me i have had 800k download speed
but only 50k upload speed
if you use a router u have to port forward it correctly

You can download torrent clients from www.download.com or google.com and serach for Azerus.
Its a very good client.
And for the torrents go to www.torrentz.com and serch.
Its not a torrent site but is a torrent search engine.
I havent answered anything about speed, becuase you need not do anything.
But make sure you have updated antivirus and spyware.

google it, its not hard, utorrent is the fastest but i use bittorrent coz it takes up less bandwidth, even tho u set the download limit to like 2 kbps it still slows the internet alot
