If you were a foot into the handicapped space, then you got what was coming to you. You can try to beat the ticket, but I would suggest you be ready to pony up $300.

It became fraudulent use of the handicap tag, and if your mom is legitimately handicapped, you of course have not absorbed the training on why those spots are reserved for the handicapped, no longer for the able bodied. Plead stupidity and pay notwithstanding the decide hands you. I recommend the decide would be much less sympathetic because of the fact, because of the fact the daughter of a handicapped person, you will desire to darn nicely comprehend greater advantageous, and behave to that end. i wanted a handicap tag for a number of months after a extreme twist of destiny. i could no longer force, so others had to force me, yet i wanted the close spots because of the fact I additionally could no longer turn to envision site visitors. I constantly respected the spots, yet and then have, I grew to alter into an recommend and have not have been given any concern reporting violators to the two the police or the proprietors of the valuables.

you can contest it, but the law states any portion of you vehicle resting in the handicapped zone constitutes a violation...
on the other hand 99% of cops wouldn't even waste time to stop and look to see if you were parked in a handicapped zone unless we got a call or it was very apparent u were in violation. my guess is your cite was from some low paid parking officer who had nothing more to do that go around w/ a flashlight and do petty crap like this...so sadly to say this guy had something to prove...trust me all the years of me being a cop i never tripped on giving someone a cite like that...waste of time.
also if u have pix w/ date/time on it, i would definitely contest it.
but if your car was blocking a driveway then you're outta luck...

Honest answer? Don't even bother. It isn't worth the hassle. Why? Because if I was the judge or the police officer and you presented the photos as evidence, I would suggest that you moved your vehicle prior to taking the pictures. There is no real way for you to prove that you didn't move the vehicle, so it's your word against the word of the police officer that issued the ticket.

What did you do irk the metermaid? If you were in the zone even one foot, pay the fine. But if you were just close like at the edge or an inch over with the very front of your hood, fight it.

I just like to say the Police cars in L.A. was suppose to have cameras to help in disputes. I am mad that they have cameras to take pictures when we are speeding, but refuse to arm policeman with cameras when they right tickets. I thought the law states that we can't take the polices word over a citizen. THere is no reason that the police can't carry a camara to photograph parking violations. I hope you win.

FIGHT IT!!!! handicap tickets can be very expensive, but they are one of the easier types of tickets to get out of.

since you are in california i recommend checking out www.ticketassasin.com, read everything on that site carefully. You didn't do anything wrong here, the cop is just trying to raise money for the local government.

File a case contesting the ticket and support it with pictures so that a decision will be made in your favor.

Sometimes they ticket for being in the area where the people in wheelchairs enter into the sidewalk. I've been ticketed for that until I finally got it straightened out in my head. Check it out to be sure.

I think it is a BS charge. Your best bet is to make the court date, explain to the judge and your fine will be lowered or eliminated. Just be nice and look nice when you go to court.
