I'd go for a small one on the back of the neck, or high on the back. Then depending on hair and clothing it is easy to hide if needs be, and show when you want to.

P.S. Be prepared for someone on here to not read the full question and say "A tattoo parlour"

I know this isn't actually what you meant by 'where', but you should get a tattoo in a reputable shop. Since no one worth their salt will tattoo knowingly a minor, you're going to have to wait if you want to be guaranteed [or at least as much as anyone can] a good tattoo. Also, at 16 you might also still be growing [some people continue until their early 20s]; even if you do get a good tattoo now, if you continue to grow it might not look the same.

If you still want a tattoo once you're of legal age but are worried about your family's reaction, I would suggest starting with a part of your body that's easily covered. Judging by your avatar I assume you're female; I know quite a few women who have gotten tattooed on their back/shoulder blade area. They usually like that it's easily coverable with a regular shirt [a handy feature for work environments] but will be easily shown in a tank or halter top. However, every time you go outside with your tattoo exposed you should apply sunblock [not sunscreen, which is weaker]; sun exposure, along with improper aftercare, is one of the main reasons some people's tattoos fade much faster than other pieces you'll see. If you don't think you'll be motivated enough to bother, try somewhere less exposed like farther down your back or on your hip or side; it'll still be covered by a shirt or pants and won't get as much exposure. Keep in mind that during healing you'll want to wear loose clothing over the area so it doesn't rub; if you do get something on your lower body you'll want to stay in sweatpants/loose skirts for awhile so it heals properly.

I would wait until your at least 18 to get a tattoo because a lot can change in 2 years and you don't want to regret what you get. I have about 7 tattoos and I did most of them when I was 28 (last year). So I will tell you that research your tattoo artists and don't just have it done anywhere. Look at portfolios and make sure they are artists before tattooists. Also if you want to hide a tattoo, then don't get one, it would just be pointless to hide a tattoo. If you're 18 then they can't say anything. Even though I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and my mother smacked me when I came home.

No matter what keep in mind that you should wait til you are of legal age to get a tattoo. Chances are if a tattooist is giving you a tattoo when you are underage, chances are they are a bad crooked tattooist.

I have a lot of tattooists and they wouldn't risk they're licenses to tattoo illegally. So I wouldn't worry as much about your parents as how much you are giving the tattooist a risk....

You sound lovely younger, so my recommendation could be to believe lengthy and tough approximately how you can believe approximately your tattoo of option in 20 years. I relatively believe you will have to now not get the genie, for the equal causes that you simply desire it. There's a tremendous danger you can remorse that one. I have a tattoo of Thumper (from the film Bambi) on my shoulder blade. I've had it for twelve years, and nonetheless relatively adore it, and in that spot, hardly ever any individual is aware of it is there. You'll recognize while you run around the correct one; that is the way it labored for me.

you cant get one without adult consent unless you are 18 or the tattoo shop might just be a pretty shady place.....i would wait a couple years, at least till your 18, i wanted a tat same as you when i was your age, my mom refused to sign any papers so i could get one, she told me i could do what i want once i turned 18, so i did and i now have two tats, i love them both! but it is a very hard and big decision bc of the fact that it is on your body permanently.

lot of people suffer skin rashes on that area... and at a later stage in life if have a change of mind... the tattoo can not be changed/removed. get the other type which can be removed/gets lighter and goes off. check this for sure. however u r not mature enough to decide yet, as advised above by others

Well I would suggest either a small one on your foot because i have one there its really cute-everyone says it hurts really bad but i didnt feel a thing, and plus its easy to hide. And other than that on your back-not necessarily your lower back because its harder to hide there just in case your shirt rides up but those would be the best places

wait till your 18. No good shop will touch you until then.

Don't even think about a back alley tattoo...then your parents would know for sure cause of the doctor bills to fix you.

They have a lot of desings or you can bring your own or tell them what you want, && they'll do it.That simple.I reccommed a small one if you dont want your parents to see it.
