Too much of anything is bad because it's too much.
The key to dieting is eating all 3 meals a day.
Don't skip breakfast.
Eat raw Veggies with your fruit, this way the disgusting veggies don't taste as bad if you have fruit in your mouth at the same time.
Drink plain water and water only. Soy milk is better the regular milk.
Cheat on your diet how ever much you want and don't feel bad about it. Depression will make you fat. Just keep getting back on the diet over and over again.
Eat as much organic as possible.
This is what I did, I went from 210 all the way down to 170 and maintained that weight for a little over a year now.
I still get drunk and eat hot wings and pizza once in a while, but on those days that I eat bad stuff I can say I ate a healthy breakfast and or lunch.
If you can diet at least 50% of the time you will lose some weight.

If the fruit adds too many calories, it could undermine your diet. If you're on a diabetic diet, too much fruit can raise your blood sugar. Generally speaking, three or four pieces of fruit a day would be part of a healthy diet.
Fruit is an important source of fiber. Oranges and apples are both very good for fiber. Bananas have potassium and other minerals. Fruit also gives you bulk which makes you feel full and less hungry. Variety and moderation are two good rules. Try to get a variety of fruit and don't over do it.

Too much of ANYTHING can be bad for you.
There is a true story of a woman who's mother, grandmother, aunt and sister all died of stomach cancer. She became obsessed with it, and convinced herself that if she drank GALLONS of water a day, it would flush any cancer cells out of her.
What it did do was upset the electrolyte (chemical) balance of her cells, so the walls of the cells began to fall apart. By the time she felt anything wrong, it was too late to save her.
Now, the same thing is not going to happen with fruit - but some fruit are fairly high in natural sugars. The best way to loose weight (I've lost over 50 pounds since this past summer) is a balanced diet of measured portions of protein and carbohydrates.
What you can eat a ton of is fresh green leafy vegetables. A huge salad (watch the dressing) will make you feel filled up from the roughage, which is good for your digestion AND your colon.
And certain leafy veggies are so low in calories that you literally burn the calories just chewing it well!
GOOD LUCK!

Too much fruit can be bad for anyone, as it contains a lot of natural sugars and is usually high in calories. Low-glycemic fruits like tomatoes, cucumbers, and so on are probably the best on a diet.

If it is raw fruit, then no, you can not eat too much, in fact it's great if you focus on fruits and veggies as long as you have a balanced diet. You can generally eat as much as you want and not have to calorie count, but a lot of veggies are about 80 calories each. Things like grapefruit are good because they burn a lot of calories. But apples are good because they help flush out toxins. Blueberries and pomegranete are great for keeping immune system and skin healthy. I would say help yourself to a wide variety so you can reep the benefits of each of them, and also so you don't get sick of the fruit after a while. Fruit smoothies are another fun way to get your fruit and veggies in, and I personally LOVE fresh pineapple -- yum!
**edit** I lost 20 pounds in a month eating a ton of just fruit and veggies... they are amazing and you can chomp all day and never calorie count as long as you cut out all the processed garbage in your diet. I think more people need to consider being "dangerous" and eating "too much" fruit as opposed to all the garbage food we get piled on our plates at fast food restaraunts.

Actually, contrary to Atkins and company, fruits simply do not have the caloric density to be fattening. The high fiber nature of fruits simply prevent this.
When low carb advocates say that gram for gram carbs are more fattening than fats, this is misinformation and here is why:
Everything that gets stored as fat has to be converted to fat (except for fat). For every gram of fat that it produces requires 9 calories to produce. A gram of carbs only has 4 calories and we can never get 9 calories out of only 4. The laws of physics simply do not permit that.
Besides, you will be hard pressed to see anyone getting fat from eating too many apples.
Here is a link with some useful info.

Fruits are good for you. But you can't go bananas. Remember that fruit have sugar and even if it's "good" sugars, too much will not help your health.
Also, if you need to choose between fruit juice and the fruit itself, always go for the fruit.
Last thing...Vegetables all open season, these you can eat as much as you want.
Enjoy.

Yes, eating too much fruit will hurt a diet. Especially if you do not try to manage it with protein in your snack or meal.
The favorite fruits: oranges, apples, bananas, pineapples, peaches, nectarines, watermelon and other melons that are very sweet have too much sugar to prevent insulin, that will sabotage a diet. These fruits can be equal to a large slice of bread. I recommend that you eat these as a snacks and make sure to eat something with protein with it, like peanut butter or some meat or a small protein rich (low carb) drink.
If you want to eat the fruit with a meal, then eat only half of the fruit and make sure the remaining carbohydrates, like bread, potatoes or corn, or other high-carb foods are in small portion on your plate (about half the size of your hand. Also, make sure you have a good source of protein on your plate like "lean" turkey, beef, chicken, shrimp or fish to off-set the carbs.
You want to prevent insulin spikes when your goal is to lose weight. Insulin spikes will cause you to store fat for a small period of your day, so unlock it with protein!
As for favorites, all berries: blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc have the lowest amount of sugar in them and they have a low glycemic index, but... when they are naturally sweet (the way most of us like to eat them), they can be a diet sabotager. I was actually gaining weight one week when I started snacking on "no fat yogurt with fresh blueberries and strawberries". I gained 3 pounds in a week! They were especially sweet when I bought them. So be careful with berries, as well.

Your nutrition does not appear very balanced, take a look at consuming extra fiber, lean protein, and extra greens instead than fruit that experience plenty of sugar in them (nonetheless maintain a few fruit). Don't disregard dairy and check out to take a day-to-day multivitamin.
