It can. It depends on the amount. A little bit of jealousy is healthy to the point where your signifigant other cares enough about you to fight for your love. In other cases however, overwhelming amounts can cause feelings of mistrust and can cause a lot of problems to a relationship. Side effects of jealousy may include but are not limited to.......feeling trapped, misunderstanding, fear, distrust of a signifigant other, communication problems, rage, arguments over trivial matters, and saying something you or your signifigant partner did not mean to say. If you truly love something you must let it go free, if it wants you it will return. My close friend just had this problem with his current ex. It was a long distance relationship; He was really controlling of her extra curricular activities and experianced a lot of jealousy when she would go party on the weekend. He did not have any control over her actions and after a few weeks the relationship fell apart. It was his fault completely, and he admits it. The bottem line is you need to figure if jealousy is really going to be a problem for you and your relationships.

it depends on the degree and frequency of the jealousy. but it also depends on the reasons for being jealous. a little is alright, but too much jealously makes the other party feel stressed up. so the solution is, if you have a jealousy problem, talk about it, talk about why you or the party is jealous nicely, communication helps in all relationships.

Of course it does. Jealousy is basically insecurity...and you will find that insecurity causes all sorts of problems, and missed opportunities everywhere in life.

only if the people in the relationship are insecure, or if one of the parties is a player and the other person knows it and is afraid of being cheated on.

Absolutly without a shadow of a doubt. What's in one's mind, the others heart will follow. If you accuse, he/she will be sure to do it. Trust me.

jealous causes misunderstandings.. misunderstandings causes arguements... arguements leads to words that should not be said.. and in the end, the relationship cannot be mended.

Yes. But lucky for me, I made my boyfriend stop speaking to girls and he never speaks to them coz he is only loyal to me and I also never speak to men.
I am from India so its very easy to have promises made.
