I was infected by Amebiasis about 18 month ago, I was treated in the hospital and after the treatment, follow-up with a stool analysis, the result was negative.
Since that, I got a strong constipation, and I was treated also, currently, I feet that my intestines is very sensitive (specially from spices).
Is the effect of having Amebiasis is permanent or it will go after some time.

your gut flora was changed due to the infection and the antibiotic treatment... sounds like it is not quite back to normal.
I would suggest that you treat yourself gently with lots and lots of yogurt and even talk to your doctor about some probiotic pills to help re-balance your gut flora. Also, for the time being, void the spicy foods that bother your gut (your body is telling you something) and increase your fiber intake (vegetable matter or otc fibers are fine) to treat your constipation as well...be sure that you are drinking lots of water every day... bottled is best if you are unsure about the purity of the water source!
you might want to look at innflam. bowel disease as well. This may be what is happening after your bout with dysentery...Sorry you are not feeling better.. the research I have seen states that only 15% of people infected will retain the cysts and have re-occuring infections. Be sure to follow up with your doctor if any of your symptoms return. Blessings.

the protozoa amoeba stays permanently on your GI tract. once you have amoebiasis, your GI tract becomes sensitive already to whatever you take in. So you have to be careful in what you eat and drink because if it is contaminated, there is a chance that your amoebiasis comes back. Its just like the protozoa sleeps in your intestinal tract and wakes up when triggered

Affirmative, it becomes permanent, everytime you have taken unclean water, you may consume 2 days inside the toilet.
