Some people only hear what they want to hear, they aren't actually listening. There will always be those who are intolerant and prejudiced. You aren't going to change them.

It more than likely stems from the intolerant and holier-than-thou attitude Christians exude. That in addition to your notions that you have to save everyone from there less than perfect religion. Christians are just as bad as Muslims, fortunately they don't spread the word of god by the sword anymore. Today they have chosen even more insidious methods of exporting there particular brand of intolerant, inflexible notions of what the "true" religion is.

Believe it or not there were and are people on this planet who resent(ed) the christian method of converting a person from one perfectly good religion to Christianity . It went south starting with the Inquisition . Telling me that I will burn in hell for all eternity if I don't convert . Tends to put a damper on my attitude towards the one doing the converting

It is all in your mind. I am a born again Christian and by conviction I walked away from my sinful lifestyle. However, I have tattoos and all from my previous lifestyle. No one thinks I am perfect nor do I try to be. I just follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is all that is required by us, along with witnessing to others by teaching them salvation through Jesus Christ.
If you are one of those Christians who goes to a church that has more potluck and picnics then they do actually teaching the word of God, and you dress up on Sunday, in very nice cloths and look down upon others who are less fortunate, then you go home and watch hellevision and live like the devil the rest of the week, you are not saved. Here is a website I offer you to take a look at. It will interest you if you are in search of the real Jesus Christ.

We know you're not calling yourself perfect, but you are saying that you get forgiven for doing the same things that we do, yet we burn in hell for simply not believing as you

Because the Roman Catholic Church states that it is the ONLY proper religion to gain a person heaven,...therefore, you must be perfect if you belong to it!

They don't, they just try to use that as a weapon against Christianity. That we have to be perfect or we are hypocrites.
