I've been casually dating this girl for about a year now. She was with a guy who took her virginity when I met her and got pregnant, had an abortion and her whole world got kinda screwed up. Since that happened to her she keeps saying she doesn't want a relationship at this point in her life but we've still been casual. She knows that I want to "officially" make her my g/f and that I won't have sex with her until months after that happens.

We have both been seeing just each other for the passed few months but after the last time we made-out she got all weird and literally didn't speak to me for a month. We're hanging out again now but she insists that she wants to just be friends... but wants to still do all the intimate things we were doing before. Things are "ok" how they are now, but I want her to actually commit so I don't have to worry about her running off with someone else and know that she wants to be with me. How long should I give her and when should I just give up

You want her because you want to "do" with her. Man, that sucks.
Okay... Open your mind man and think. She is not ready. And I think you must to accept what she said to you. Slow down a little bit and stay with her to be your friend. Understand her feelings much better and be ready to catch her in times when she is in trouble. Don't give up! If you really love her stay with her..

As long as your heart tells you too. Sounds like she has nome issues and I think you need to sit down and have a nice long chat with her. Did she want the abortion? That could be affecting her. Did the guy who got her pregnant leave her? Was he supportive in anyway? Maybe she is afraid of getting burned. If she doesn't commit then it won't happen right? She's scared to let her guard down. You need to show her that you love her and that you are there for her no matter what.

you have to understand her fear, her last show of intamacy with a man resulted in the ending of human life,if you love her give her the number of a good therapist and give her some room. She may not be willing to confront her issues for some time, you need someone with a little less baggage.
and will return your love in a healthy relationship.

she's obviously been hurt deeply in her last relationship and can't get over the bad experience. don't rush her into making the committments now coz she can't even get over her own hurdle. just treat her as before and let her know that you'll be there to protect her

to be completely honest, i would have given up aleady. but u must really like her n i hope she can see that. i think she's being a little selfish. i mean she must know how u feel, right? (n if u haven't told her then u are silly) she shouldn't play with ur head, no one has any right to do that, even if they think they do, they don't, trust me!
