Since being diagnosed my symptoms heve gotten worse. My whole body aches and my feet go numb and get really cold all the time. They are red and discolored. I also have diarhea or am constipated daily and have hemoroids. My bones ache real bad and I have been very depressed. I don't want to live like this. Life sucks..........................

It sounds like you have more things going on here than just the diabetes. Diabetes wouldn't necessarily be responsible for the swelling in your feet or the stomach feeling bloated.

The numb, cold feet sound like diabetic neuropathy. That's usually caused by uncontrolled blood sugar. Is your blood sugar under control?

The diarrhea, constipation, etc. can be irritable bowel syndrome, or it can be side effects of some oral medications used for diabetes.

In general, it sounds like you haven't received the medical treatment you need. If you're having side effects from oral meds, the Dr. can switch you to other ones. If your blood sugar is under control you shouldn't be having the problems with your feet. I'd encourage you to go back to the Dr. and tell her about the problems you've mentioned here. If the Dr. isn't responsive, go to another Dr. Seriously. It doesn't have to be this bad. I know you're feeling beat down right now and will probably have a hard time gathering up enough energy for a fight, but you need to insist, nag and fight for proper medical attention.. if that's what it takes. There are answers to your problems and you could feel MUCH better but you're going to have to insist on the Drs. trying other things until you're back on your feet. Hang in there and insist on being taken seriously. Life's too short to spend it being sick :-)

Alzheimer's is a hard thing to deal with. Try not to let those family members get to you, and be thankful for the time you get to have with you dad. I personally feel it's much better to know when someone is going, you can make a point of doing things and saying things you wouldn't have if the person was taken in an accident. We all have different emotional levels so try to work with yours not against them. My father passed away in Dec. of 1993. and sometimes I still cry. I've also spent some time with a few people who had Alzheimer's and they really seem to like looking at pictures. If you have an old photo album or just pictures from when you dad was younger he might like them. I think their memories tend to be moving backwards so old pics seem like the current time to them. I don't know if you are a praying person or not, but that has always brought me comfort. My best to you and yours.

I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy and had to give myself insulin injections sometimes 3 times a day for nearly 3 months, so I can feel your pain. You might want to talk to your doctor about taking some type of anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication. Dealing with a chronic condition like you are is very, very difficult and a large number of people going through things similar to your situation do suffer from depression as a result. But most importantly, follow your doctors advice on your treatment and take care of yourself. Exercise can also be very therapeutic...not only for your body but for your mind as well. Best of luck to you.

Don't worry, a lot of people also got the same problem. Is only see how discipline you are to control it. Try eat less acidic food like red meat stuffs. Eat more vege, if you like try to eat some supplement like Elken spirulina and Dr. Xeniji, it help a lot of diabete people to control their sugar level. Especially, Dr. Xeniji, is a supplement that turn on your own body metalbolism to turn the blood sugar into energy that you need. This is why you feel tire, because your body cannot breakdown the sugar that you eat from foods into energy for your body. Like to know more email to me owenrichardtan@yahoo.com. diabetes is controllable. it's merely a life changing disease, diet and exersize are something you should be doing.

however, i wanted to tell you if the doctor hasnt' tested you already, you should be tested for hepatitis c, which is treatable and sometimes curable.

hcv can cause type 2 diabetes.

good luck

diabetes is a manageable disease to endure if you handle it correctly. exercise, following a diabetic diet (preferably one that reduces carbohydrates) , checking your blood sugar, and taking prescribed medications will lessen the symptoms if not totally prevent them. see a good doctor of endocrinologist and get motivated to overcome this disease.
