First you have to find out what you are allergic to. For some, it is nickel which is found in some dyes & jewelry; latex, foods, detergents, perfumes, etc. Are you seeing a dermatologist? Hydrocortisone cream can help, but if it is a large area, that is not practical. Good luck!

first make sure your water has softener in it
second change all your soaps to things that say "free" on the bottle which means it is free of dyes and fragrance which can be irritating to the skin

keep your skin MOIST at all times and DO shower daily people and some doctors will often times tell you not to shower daily because it can be drying..but it washes off all the allergens from your skin which triggers the eczema

now heres a list to try
if your skin has open sores..neosporin!
what works great is corizone or cortaid put on your skin DIRECTLY after you shower in the morning and before you go to bed at night..coat yourself in vaseline..gross and greasy yes but after a few day your skin will look SO much better
for times when your eczema isnt triggered up..keep it treated with things like
cetaphil..curel..aquaphor..just dye free fragrance free extra moisturizing CREAMS not lotions

and dont stop using the free laundry soaps and things cuz that often time is what is triggering eczema

Firstly, you have to know what you are allergic to. What causes your skin to outbreak.

Avoid using harsh cleaning agents/soaps/creams on your skin. Best to go for soap free, fragrance free variety. I've heard Cetaphill and Sebamed are excellent for people who have exzema.

You should also watch your diet. Avoid heaty food like deep fried stuff and durians. Drink more water, eat more fruits and rest more. Stress can cause the condition to get worse.

Someone just told me that her 9 year old son have not have any recurrence since he started swimming. I think the Chlorine in the pool helps to kill bacteria or something. However, it is important to note that long time in the pool can also cause dry skin so it is best to have a good reliable moisturiser like Aquareaus or Jergens on hand. Apply liberally after a swim to avoid dry skin.

Good Luck!

I have had eczema most of my life. It is dryness of the skin that can be irritated by extreme heat or cold weather. I suggest that you keep your hands moistured throughout the day.

I have been taking hydrocortisone (dr prescribed), which is always a big help.
