If you refer to his name as "Yeshua" in Hebrew than the name "Yeshua" would means "Saved"or "Him who is saved". It doesn't mean "Saviour"as the Christians translate it.

If you refer to the Greek word "Ieosus" than the meanig is even worse!!!!!! It comes from the Hebrew spelling "YSHW" which people often mistranslated it as "Yehoshua".It actually a short form of Hebrew word in a sentences which means
"May his name and memory be blotted out" in Hebrew it would sound like this "Yemach,Shmo w,Zikro"

If you refer to his name in his mother tounge(Aramaic) "Eesho"or "Eesa" than it come's from the word"Eesh"which means"Ursa Major constellation"which is the constellation star. This is based on a prophecies about Jesus in OT (Numbers 24:17)

But what does "Star "had to do with the Messiah?

"1.star-a. of Messiah,brother's,youth numerous progeny,personification,God's omniscience"
[Theological word book of the Old Testament,Brown-Driver-Briggs,H.W.F. Gesenius]

Well,that's all.

To Sunestauromai, the word "Yehoshua" is in Hebrew not Aramaic.

However,I still thumbs you up.

Jesus Christ, where "Christ" is a title derived from the Greek christós, meaning the "Anointed One," which corresponds to the Hebrew-derived "Messiah." The name "Jesus" is an Anglicization of the Greek Iesous, itself believed to be a transliteration of the Hebrew יהושע Yehoshua or Hebrew-Aramaic ישוע Yeshua, meaning "YHWH is salvation."
