I have bleached my hair for several years so I have a lot of experience. By a pre-lightener do you mean strip the color from your hair? If you do, don't put a color on that has peroxide in it. You will feel like a blow torch was on your head. That is the old way of bleaching. I used to have scabs on my crown a 1/2 inch thick. Just get the lightest champagne or beige blond toner. You will have to bleach it over the next three months about three times before you get the color you want. That is the procedure that is the easiest on your hair. Never use ash because it turns green. If you like a yellow blond then try golden blond. Brown hair has a lot of red in it so that is why I suggested beige. Good luck.

I know you can only go two shades up or down from your own at a time.. for example if mid-brown is 4/5, blonde is 9, black is 1. So you can go to a 6 then do another shade to an 8...etc. It's much more difficult to go lighter and probably easier to just do it in a hairdressers. You could try schools of hairdressing to get a cheaper dye job. Or ask for help from the chemist you get your dye from. Good luck.

it will work with a pre-lightener used first but be careful as yyou run the risk of yellow hair, particularly if you have not done it before, i know this from experience, try a salon if funds will allow as they will do strand tests and advise on the best tone for you, it is costly but worth it, costs about, £60-70 but then you will only need to touch up the roots every 6-8 weeks this costs less, blonde hair is high maintenance, but salon all the way good luck

That sounds ok to me. L'oreal perfect blonde creme looks good, especially for what you are trying to do. The pre-lightiner will start to lighten the hair then loreal perfect blonde creme [maximum] can lighten your hair of up to 6 shades!

Highlights sounds a nice option though.

Good Luck on whatever you decide to do xox

highlights would be better coz goin from brown 2 blonde could result in a bad colour. make sure you test a bit of hair first coz some people get reactions lol

high lites would be much nicer, you could have 2/3 different shades, it would look more natural than a stark one colour. Also you won,t have the regrowth problem

it will work but you might regret it why not high light it first and then just keep adding more and more high lights
