I have the flu, but now I am starting to have an upset stomach?

I don't have a stomach virus, so why do I have an upset stomach?

Often times upset sotmach may be caused by a couple things:
1) Your're taking medicine that your system is not use to. Make sure you drink plenty of water to flush it through your system. I'd say to be drinking about 10 oz of water an hour. Pay attention too to the directions. Some meds say right on the bottle to drink plenty of fluids or take with food.

2) You have drainage from your sinus, emptying into your stomach. That too will create an upset stomach. Again. I'd stick with the water and eat crackers to keep the stomach acid at a minimum.

I know that they ALWAYS say to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluid. They ALWAYS say that because it is true. I'm not a normal water drinker , but I swear by water when I am sick.

are you taking any cold and flu tablets or any other medicines? They might be causing you to have an upset stomach, or it could be just a general effect of the virus in your body making you feel unwell. Or it could be that you have an upset stomach for a completely unrelated reason, like eating a food that disagreed with you etc.

If the doctor has no answer try to take vitamins and rest. This can result a virus after all, or an infection. I had this for a week and it was not actually in the stomach it was in my apendix. I did not have it removed but it can sometimes jump on you.

Most of all just rest, take vitamins and avoid dirty objects and foods.

I just got out of the flu, and I had the same problem. According to my physicist, it's the medication I'm taking. But that's just me.

Eat lots of chocolate and bananas, it should help :)
