...and that my wife is Lutheran why do I always get a couple or more thumbs down?
and I don't get the thumbs down until I edit my profile to mention the fact, so I know that is the source.
Why?

*sigh* no the pentagram in my pic is not religious but from a tv series Hellsing, it is off of the Vampire Alucard who serves the Hellsing Organization fighting evil, How is that Satanic? Besides Satanists sport the pentagram upside down with a goathead inside of it.

I'm tired of explaining the pentagram in my pic over and over again.
I thought it would be no prob as the only reason that I have it is because I'm into the show right now, renting the episodes on Netflix.
My name is meant to be an oxymoron, nothing more this just shows how quick some people are to accuse of Satanism

Lucifer means light bearer, so it was to be associated with enlightening, but with a pentagram I guess it kinda ruined the ideal

My take on things: Some people on Y!A apparently lack the tolerance that you and your wife share, as positive examples of both your beliefs.

I never really noticed your pic. until you pointed it out. Didn't you know that vampires are evil though?
I think it's great that your wife is christian! 'Kinda like that TV show from the 70's, 'The Walton's'. Mr. Walton wasn't the religious type either, and hardly if ever went to church, but they had an awesome marriage though! Your marriage also reminds me of my friends' parents. The Mom is catholic, and the Dad is jehovah witness, and they too, have a good relationship! Now how is that for weird? The kids though are kinda messed up-----they've been torn between choosing either mass, or kingdom hall. Two out of the three of them are hooked on drugs. But the parents have married for 40 plus years!
(we just hope one day you'll join the flock, is all).
Blessings.

I'm a believer and I won't give you a thumbs down. Look- I know alot of people who at one time or other were fairly strong in their faith, but something happened or a series of bad things happened that just crumbled it. As sad as that is, I would think the last thing they need is "religious" condemnation coming from people who generally cannot explain their own beliefs to begin with. Besides, alot of atheists I know quote scripture verbatim and with challenging insight. I myself do not attend church because so many times when I disagreed with one of the faithful, I was quickly labelled as a one of the "confused brethern" and made to understand, implicitly, that I probably shouldn't return- I never have. An example is the time I tried to explain to one of the faithful that the Genesis account was'nt describing creation, but rather re-creation. In Genesis 2:4 it says that "this is the "history" of the heavens and the earth in the day that God created them." The translation of the word history from the Hebrew tongue, "toledoth", literally means "vast generations" of time. In six literal days? When I, a strong believer in God, point such things out and the possible ramifications it could have on the possibility of, oh, dinosaurs and the like-well. Don't feel bad. Your mind is between you and God-or not. Maybe it's not so much that atheists in general don't believe in God as it is they won't share the same mindless, Puritan conception of God as those who long for eternity in Heaven with Him, but don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Saturday afternoon. And, hey- I love vampire movies.

Perhaps the unfortunate choice of screen name and avatar icon might be part of the problem.
Besides, it is already well known that Christians listen very little to what open atheists have to say anyway. Frequent use of the "Satan is your master you just don't know it" handwaving is the most common excuse to ignore any appeals to reason, evidence, or critical thinking.
Remember: Part of their religious doctrine is that anything not explicitly coming from God is by definition "Satanic". This includes everything from Sunday night BINGO to the push-up sports bra.
Thank you, Bungyow. I rest my case.

My guess is it's because the christians in here aren't as individualistic as your wife. But christians rarely are, are they? I guess just because Jesus mentioned he's a shephered and they are his keep, they felt the least they could do is conform to the bunch as much as they can. Although Jesus was never a conformist and never really liked those who were. And that their God so believed in individuality that he never created two finger prints alike in his career as a creator.

Because we are saying that satan is a liar and we do not agree with him or his minions! Now leave the demons and be free in Jesus name! And I know you wont but when you decide you cant pay the price they will demand and you cant get free because they own your soul, CALL ON THE NAME OF JESUS, and they will leave you alone and he will set you free from the demonic! And put a new living spirit in you and bless your children instead of the curse you are bring down on your self and your love ones. Here it is read my site , these are how to get the real power, not the secret little wimpy satanic tricks you think are great. No real power!

same reason atheist scroll down the list and just click thumbs down to anyone who mentions bible.
its kids and it makes them feel important and they actually think by giving you the thumbs down, it will make the person who asked the question to ignore yours, like the masses had voted or something. many kids on here, hence the garbage at times.
